Halo Infinite has earned rave reviews for its core gameplay, but the game has not been without its critics. Detractors have complained about Halo Infinite's Battle Pass and challenge-based progression system, as well as the lack of playlist options. Developer 343 Industries is aware of the complaints fans have about Halo Infinite and has been working to address feedback, but this takes time.

Something that Halo Infinite players have been complaining about is the new game's lack of a Slayer-only playlist. Essentially the Halo equivalent of classic Deathmatch, Slayer is a staple of the franchise and previous entries have allowed players to stick to Slayer-only modes. For some bizarre reason, Halo Infinite currently only has four playlists: Quickplay, Bot Bootcamp, Big Team Battle, and Ranked Arena, meaning players are constantly having to play objective-based match types, even if they don't want to.

Exacerbating the issue is that some of Halo Infinite's challenges, which must be completed if players hope to level up the Battle Pass at a reasonable rate, encourage people to play in a way that may not always be inducive to winning a match. Considering this, it's no surprise that some Halo Infinite players want straightforward Slayer playlists, but unfortunately, it looks like they'll have to wait awhile for that to happen.

John Junyszek of 343 Industries recently addressed the complaints fans have about Halo Infinite playlists, saying that the developer has been paying attention to feedback and is working on adding new playlists to the game. Specifically, Junyszek mentions that Fiesta, Tactical Slayer, and Free-for-All playlists are in the works for Halo Infinite, and while they won't be available in the game at its proper launch on December 8, the hope is to have them added by the end of the month.

Junyszek then added that a "Social Slayer playlist" with multiple variations is in the pipeline, but Halo Infinite players will have to wait until after the holidays for it. It's unclear why standard Halo playlists like Slayer or Team Slayer weren't included in Halo Infinite with the launch of its multiplayer beta, and it's likely going to upset fans that the December 8 launch isn't bringing the playlists to the game either.

With or without proper Slayer playlists, December 8 is still going to be a huge day for Halo Infinite. The long-awaited Halo Infinite campaign launches that day, giving fans the chance to experience Master Chief's latest adventure for themselves. Whether or not the campaign lives up to the hype remains to be seen, but Halo fans won't have to wait too much longer to find out for themselves.

Halo Infinite launches December 8 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
