Now that the winter holidays are over, 343 Industries is cooking up big changes to Halo Infinite's monetization that players will love.

While Halo Infinite is a well-received entry, many players take issue with how slow the leveling is in the Battle Pass as well as the pricing model for the game's cosmetic items. However, ever since launch, 343 Industries has been releasing updates to Halo Infinite's progression model, and now the studio is about to make even bigger challenges to how players progress.

On Halo Waypoint, Jerry Hook, Head of Design, took to the forums to update players on what 343 Industries is working on. The biggest change he lists is to the Battle Pass where players will now be able to earn Credits in Season 2's Battle Pass. In addition, the studio is looking at slashing prices for cosmetic items across the board and making sure to make the bundles found in the cash shop offer "stronger values." According to Jerry Hook, items that are normally tied to these bundles will begin to sell individually in the store. Some of these changes will take effect next Tuesday, while 343 Industries will share more details about other changes such as challenges and XP gains as Season 2 approaches.

To purchase any of the armor pieces or weapon skins that the cash shop offers, players have to purchase Credits with real money, and Credits are important for two reasons. Credits are not only useful for purchasing the game's cosmetic items, but they are also necessary to buy the Battle Pass and are even used for buying levels within the Battle Pass itself. By tying Credits to some of the Battle Pass' rewards, players will be able to purchase items from the cash shop without needing to purchase more Credits.

Unfortunately, these changes to the progression system only apply to the Season 2 Battle Pass, which won't release until May 2022. The Season 1 Battle Pass won't receive an update that adds Credits, or any additional cosmetic items for that matter, to the levels, but 343 Industries will continue to update how much XP players can earn.

The potential for players to earn Credits in Halo Infinite's Battle Pass can prove to be powerful outside of being able to buy cosmetics. While 343 Industries currently has not announced how many Credits players can earn in a single Battle Pass, if the amount can permit players to purchase future Battle Passes like how Call of Duty: Modern Warfare allows, then players will undoubtedly be satisfied with the value a single Battle Pass would provide.

Halo Infinite is now available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
