As players wait for Halo Infinite to finally release, 343 Industries continues to drip feed fans with new images of weapons, multiplayer maps, and armor they can expect to find in the new game. However, while showing off Halo Infinite's new Bulldog Shotgun, the developer might have revealed a vehicle that could be making its first appearance since Halo: Reach.

A number of players have noticed the new vehicle already, with Reddit user MonsterWer01 posting the find to r/halo and receiving over 13,000 upvotes as of this writing. Naturally, even more fans have started gathering around the image, hoping a small design detail in the background is an indication that Halo Infinite will include Halo: Reach's forklift among the game's list of vehicles.

Since 343 Industries has already announced that Halo Infinite will be receiving new vehicles and other equipment, along with updates to some of the series' existing gear, it wouldn't be too far-fetched to imagine the developer will be reaching backward to older vehicles like the forklift. While this particular piece of equipment isn't the most powerful car to take into a fight, it has become a fan favorite that players have been hoping to see return to the series since its first appearance in Halo: Reach.

The forklift can actually be seen in the background of a few different Halo Infinite weapon screens that 343 Industries has shown off so far. However, it remains to be seen if this is an actual indication of a vehicle that will be available to drive in the upcoming title, or just a decoration hanging out in the back of the hanger. Given how excited some fans have gotten over the idea that Halo: Reach's forklift might be coming back, there might be a case for making the vehicle drivable in future updates, if the function isn't already in the works.

According to 343 Industries, development on Halo Infinite is focused on polish leading up to the release later this year, which likely means most designs planned for launch are set in stone. So, it is entirely possible the developer wasn't aware that players might be excited to see the forklift make a return, let alone already slotted the vehicle into the game. There's been no announcement at the time of this writing, so it could go either way as players wait for 343 Industries to make an official reveal of the fan-favorite vehicle.

Halo: Infinite is set to release fall 2021 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
