Halo Infinite is finally here in its full release, and players are jumping into its massive campaign, though some difficulties are arising. 343 Industries warns players from using Quick Resume with Halo Infinite for the time being, as some players are reporting lost content after returning to the title.

The campaign of Halo Infinite offers the most openended experience in the franchise, allowing the player to explore Zeta Halo to their heart's content. While they can surely go straight for the main mission marker and continue the story, there are a ton of additional collectibles and side-missions the players can pursue like Spartan Cores to improve Master Chief's stats, and Mjolnir armor caches that unlock multiplayer cosmetics.

Quick Resume is a defining feature of the next-gen Xbox Series X/S consoles, it allowing the player to suspend multiple titles and return to them instantaneously without having to fully boot the game up again. Importantly, the feature is not intrinsically compatible with every title, meaning Xbox must individually add Quick Resume to titles whether during development or after release.

Despite having Quick Resume support, Halo Infinite players should avoid using the feature for the time being because they may just lose some of their unlocked content. Brian Jarrard, the Halo Community Director at 343 Industries, took to Twitter to issue a PSA about Quick Resume and Halo Infinite. After initially explaining what the Spartan armor lockers are, they present the dangers of using Quick Resume, stating, "If you are offline, or disconnected from services - which can occur after Quick Resume - the cosmetics won't show up in your [Multiplayer] inventory." The Spartan armor lockers are some of the only other "free" cosmetics for Halo Infinite Multiplayer.

343 Industries plans on making sure get the content they earned though, and offers guidance on how to avoid the problem in the mean time. "The team is aware and we will eventually have a retroactive fix (you will get the cosmetics you've earned)," Jarrard writes in a follow-up tweet. As for preventing the loss of content, Jarrard suggests players to simply not use Quick Resume and verify before launching the campaign that they are indeed online. Interestingly, playing Halo Infinite offline on PC reveals new multiplayer modes that are currently inaccessible when playing the game online.

While not the largest of issues that Halo Infinite is currently facing—many are still anguishing over the game's battle pass progression and cosmetic woes—not being able to Quick Resume is certainly inconvenient for those who have been using the feature. At least 343 Industries is already working on a fix for the issue, ensuring that people will get the cosmetics that they earned in the campaign. It is currently unclear whether this Quick Resume problem affects the status of other Halo Infinite collectibles like Skulls and Armor Cores, as Jarrard did not mentioning it in his posts. As those collectibles don't apply to multiplayer, it's possible they aren't affected.

Halo Infinite is available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
