Halo Infinite's multiplayer has balanced its beloved, nostalgic gameplay with a tedious Battle Pass that fans have grappled with since its launch. Players are awarded variable amounts of XP in Halo Infinite based on the daily and weekly challenges that they complete, such as Practice Makes Perfect's "Play any Match" accomplishment, though this specific challenge only grants a meager 10 XP each time.

While these challenges may not reap a fantastic amount of XP for repeated completion, they are at least achievable passively through casual matches and can help tack on some much needed XP toward Halo Infinite's Battle Pass progression. Some challenges, however, are only achievable if matches unfold in particular ways.

Reddit user Okapi05 has shared their wishes for Halo Infinite's multiplayer to "remove challenges like this that rely on your opponents playing well" in order to achieve them. Okapi05's concern refers generally to unintuitive tasks that necessitate other players acting in dependable ways, such as having players "Stop an Enemy Killing Spree in Fiesta PvP." Of course, this challenge mandates that an enemy player must first be allowed to initiate a killing spree in the first place in order for the player to then interrupt it.

If an opposing team does well in the match this may not be that large of an issue, for example, but it might take several matches to isolate that specific enemy player in a match of Halo Infinite's Fiesta PvP and be the one to thwart them. SynthVix states that another part of such challenges that has caused concern is the fact that they "actively promote sabotaging your team" because they are easier to instigate if players simply let their own team down in a firefight.

Fortunately, Halo Infinite's Challenge Swap consumables can be used to switch out a particularly irritating task. But receiving more of these consumables comes as a result of completing challenges and progressing through the Battle Pass and Event's rewards list anyhow, so they are not necessarily a blanket solution and only help to remedy an ephemeral frustration. Some challenges may not also be around often due to the limited time for Events, so there is a greater incentive to find ways to complete them when the rewards are so fleeting.

Vehicle-related challenges have also appeared in soured discourse from players, where irregular spawns and other inconvenient instances have robbed them of opportune moments for a challenge. Other players suggest that simple objective-based challenges would suffice since that could encourage team-play as well as individual skill. Regardless, it is clear that some challenges are favored more than others for their intuitive goals and considerate approach to Halo Infinite's gameplay.

Halo Infinite releases on December 8 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The multiplayer beta is available now.
