Halo Infinite is one of the most-anticipated and discussed games this year. In spite of everything that has happened in terms of Halo Infinite's gameplay reveal and delay, many in the community are still patiently looking forward to its release. An overlooked point in the most recent game update highlights the lack of one aggravating feature that has become more commonplace in gaming.

An update on Halo Waypoint yesterday confirmed that Halo Infinite's release date was pushed back to fall 2021. While this may have upset a number of antsy fans, it gives the developers significantly more time to iron out the game and polish it into the product many are hoping it will be. Though, that was not the only piece of information to come from the Halo Waypoint update.

The Halo Waypoint update confirmed there will not be any sort of loot boxes or microtransactions in Halo Infinite. Essentially all of the in-game rewards are cosmetic-based and do not rely on random chance. What is also important to note is that none of the rewards offer any kind of advantage to players in terms of gameplay, and therefore the gameplay dynamics will be built entirely around each user's skill.

For many fans, this is assuring to hear. With microtransactions becoming more rampant and present within a number of different games, especially EA games, it's nice to know that Halo Infinite will be able to focus more on what the game has to offer on its own rather than having to rely on loot boxes and microtransactions as a way of incentivizing players to keep playing.

With the amount of times Halo Infinite has been delayed, it's starting to resemble Cyberpunk 2077. Given all of the negative impacts that COVID-19 has had on the gaming industry, it isn't an unwarranted delay, but considering the game was supposed to be a launch title for the Xbox Series X/S, it's understandable why some fans are restless.

Despite this, there's still a lot to look forward to in terms of Halo Infinite. The first look at one of Halo Infinite's multiplayer maps left a strong impression on a number of fans, and there's plenty of exciting details that have yet to be unveiled. Hopefully, more tangible demonstrations of the game's potential, such as gameplay footage, is close to being shown off.

Halo Infinite is slated to release in fall 2021.
