Microsoft showed off roughly 30 games during its Xbox E3 2021 event, but one that stood out was Halo Infinite. The latest entry in Xbox's flagship franchise was treated to a brand new story trailer that helped set the emotional tone for the campaign's narrative, and fans were also treated to their first look at multiplayer gameplay as well. There's been quite a bit of buzz about Halo Infinite's free-to-play multiplayer, with fans discovering one particularly impressive detail about it.
Fans watching the Halo Infinite multiplayer footage from E3 noticed an interesting detail about the game's guns. In the clip, slowed down by Reddit user TheWhiteWizard2004, it shows an enemy player downed with a few pistol shots. In usual Halo fashion, the downed player drops their weapons, and when their gun hits the metal platform they're standing on, sparks shoot out. It's a nice touch that shows 343's heightened attention to detail when compared to previous games in the Halo series.
It's quite possible that when battling it out on other areas in Halo Infinite's multiplayer maps, like the sandy areas seen in the background of the clip, that guns will have a different particle effect when hitting the ground. That might be something that fans have to wait to test themselves, though it shouldn't be too much longer before they get the opportunity to do so.

Halo Infinite has no release date in sight at the time of this writing, but fans will get a chance to try the game this summer. A playable Halo Infinite technical test is taking place at some point this summer, though more specific details have yet to be revealed. With only two months left of the summer, though, one has to imagine that 343 Industries will offer some insight sooner rather than later.
It's quite likely that a Halo Infinite open beta or two will take place prior to launch as well, so the test this summer shouldn't be the only opportunity Halo fans have to play the game before launch. Even so, the lack of a solid release date may be concerning to some, especially those who were disappointed by Halo Infinite's initial delay into 2022 when it was originally meant to be an Xbox Series X launch title.
The lack of a specific Halo Infinite release date doesn't necessarily mean that fans have anything to worry about, though. Hopefully a Halo Infinite release date is announced soon so those looking forward to the game and its impressive level of detail can mark it down on their calendars.
