After several years of development, gamers are finally able to get their hands on the multiplayer portions of Halo Infinite completely for free. It appears that even some experience Halo fans who were skeptical about the new game have been won over--or at least, one has been. YouTube streamer Dr Disrespect recently took to Twitter to praise Halo Infinite's multiplayer despite being uncertain about it in the past.

In the past, Dr Disrespect declared that he wasn't impressed by Halo Infinite, so this appears to be quite the turnaround. Reportedly, the streamer was certain that Halo Infinite would need a Battle Royale mode in order to push the envelope and be successful. While the free multiplayer aspect of the game does not have a Battle Royale mode, it appears to be enjoyable regardless.

Dr Disrespect took to his verified Twitter account in the wake of the Halo Infinite multiplayer release to officially admit the game played well. In his tweet, he states that he's giving "firm handshakes" to the game, although he ended it by saying "yayaya," which might imply sarcasm. Regardless, most of the replies to this post appear to be assuming that his praise was legitimate, including a reply from the official Halo Twitter account stating that it's good to see Dr Disrespect aboard.

Another element Dr Disrespect wanted to see in Halo Infinite was a proximity voice chat, a mechanic that would make it difficult for players to hear each other unless they were standing close in-game. Proximity chat functions often lend a sense of tension and isolation to games on top of making it harder for players to stay in contact, especially if they are inclined to spread out or fight solo. Dr Disrespect has an extensive history with FPS games and he stated that the multiplayer previews of Halo Infinite felt empty in a way that could be addressed through the heightened focus created by proximity chat. That Halo Infinite seems to have won his respect regardless could say something about the quality of its multiplayer.

As of writing, it appears that many other fans are also expressing respect for the Halo Infinite multiplayer, which is already incredibly successful. Twitch Partner Viss congratulated the Halo Infinite developers for creating a good game but also stated that a Battle Royale mode would be welcome. Another user listed their only complaints being the absence of SWAT and the requirement to pay for the best armor in the game.

Halo Infinite is in development for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
