The long awaited premiere of Halo Infinite's gameplay was showcased earlier today and fans could not be more excited. For only eight minutes of gameplay, quite a lot was shown in terms of visual aesthetic, sound design, weapon and enemy variance, and gameplay mechanics. It well and truly appears to be the most ambitious Halo game ever made. Though, the surprises did not stop there.

Despite its short length, the campaign gameplay footage shown was incredibly impressive. Sporting numerous new weapons, as well as plenty of returning weapons, equipment, and vehicles. If what was shown is any indication of the final product, this game could revitalize the franchise in a big way. However, Microsoft had more in store for Halo fans than most originally realized.

Microsoft has officially partnered with Mondo, a fan-based merchandise company that produces custom artwork, apparel, toys, and numerous other pieces of physical merchandise based on licensed IPs. Mondo will produce an original art series based entirely on Halo Infinite. The first limited edition poster is set to launch tomorrow at 9am PT.

The poster set to launch tomorrow depicts the Master Chief's new armor variant reminiscent of previous Halo games. The color gradient and the various green shades are somewhat similar to the design layout and aesthetic of the original Xbox giving it a sort of retro feel to it. Along with the comparisons made between the box art of Halo Infinite versus the box art of Combat Evolved, it truly does seem like this game is going back to Halo's roots.

Today has certainly given Halo fans all over the world a lot to digest. The slurry of new game mechanics featured in Halo Infinite bring a lot to the table without losing what made Halo excellent in the first place. For many, the holiday of 2020 can not come fast enough.

Having said all of this, there's still a lot that the gaming community has yet to find out in terms of this game. The release date for Halo Infinite was not confirmed during the Xbox event once again. It took Microsoft two years to finally showcase gameplay, 2020 is halfway over, and there's still no indication of when the Xbox Series X will release. Only time will tell if Halo Infinite can truly deliver on everything that the developers have promised.

Halo Infinite is set to launch in the Holiday of 2020.
