Halo Infinite’s multiplayer component has been available for a couple of weeks, and the current implementation of the progression system has been under fire ever since. While the gameplay has been almost universally praised, fans have been disappointed at the nature of the Battle Pass in Halo Infinite.

Players progress through the Battle Pass by completing challenges, but the execution of this idea has upset a seemingly significant portion of the Halo audience. Challenges in Halo Infinite require players to perform specific tasks in a particular game mode to earn XP. As there is no way to select that mode, it currently takes a lot of time to earn XP and progress through the Battle Pass. It seems like 343 Industries is working on implementing changes that will eventually resolve this issue, and the developer has just confirmed news that will probably please many fans.

John Junyszek, Community Manager at 343 Industries, has just posted a Tweet that states that players will be getting bonus XP in Halo Infinite for the first 6 matches of every day. Players will earn 300 XP for the first game, which reduces to 200 for the second and third. The next 3 matches will give out 100 XP each, with players netting the normal 50 XP from the game 7 onwards. Junyszek also assures fans that 343 Industries is working on making bigger changes, but needs more time to implement them.

343 Industries had previously added a 50 XP daily challenge for every match played, while also making changes to the weekly challenges and doubling the duration of 2XP boosts. The developer realized that XP payouts were slower than it had envisioned, and this recent change has been implemented to reward users for playing matches every day.

Despite being free-to-play, Halo Infinite has been widely criticized for the nature of its microtransactions. While its reassuring to know that 343 Industries is working on a fix, fans probably should not expect to see any major changes when the game officially releases on December 8. It has already been confirmed that new maps or modes will not be added to Halo Infinite on launch day.

Fans that are looking forward to playing the campaign of Halo Infinite should note that spoilers that have started to appear online. New footage from the campaign was released earlier this month, and there seems to be a general sense of excitement around the new features added by 343 Industries. It will be interesting to see how it fares against other Halo campaigns when Halo Infinite launches next month.

Halo Infinite multiplayer beta is available now, and officially releases on December 8 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
