Since a new Halo game, titled Halo: Infinite, was revealed at the Microsoft E3 briefing this year, many fans have been eagerly awaiting more news. At E3, Microsoft has only released a very short teaser trailer for the game, but after a recent tweet by Steve Downes, who voiced the Master Chief for almost all the previous Halo games, more details about the game may have been revealed.

During E3, a GIF of the Master Chief in Halo: Infinite was posted by the official Halo account on Twitter. The caption of the GIF featured the phrase, "Are you ready to get back to work?," to which Downes replied, "I was born ready." It was confirmed at E3 that Halo: Infinite will definitely be a Master Chief game, so some fans were wondering who will voice Master Chief in this installment of the game. This tweet by Downes has therefore sparked many rumors surrounding the game, as this may be an indication that Downes will indeed be returning for Halo: Infinite as the iconic voice of Master Chief.

This is somewhat unexpected, as Downes retired from radio and gaming almost three years ago to spend more time with his family. At the time of Downes' retirement, it seemed that Halo 5 was the last Halo game that Downes would have voiced, and many fans were worried about who will voice the Master Chief in the next Halo game. This tweet indicates that Downes may be briefly coming out of retirement to voice Master Chief once more.

Many fans are very excited about the prospect of Downes coming back as Master Chief, as it would be hard to imagine the Master Chief with any other voice than that of Downes that we have grown so used to and fond of over the years. We are eager to find out more about the upcoming Halo game, which is sure to be a worthy successor in the best-selling video game franchise.

Halo Infinite has yet to receive an official release date.
