Halo Infinite received a new patch on March 28 that resolves a substantial number of problems with the game, not least of which were the instability issues tied to customization menus for PC players. The troubled flagship FPS from Xbox received an all-new seasonal content release not long ago, Echoes Within, and the new patch addresses some of its specific problems too.

While the development of future story content for Halo Infinite end up getting stalled and done away with, according to reports, the same cannot be said about the game's suite of multiplayer content. As Season 3 rages on, 343 Industries is bound to deploy a number of other patches and hotfixes, but for the time being, it seems like the biggest fires may have been put out.

Most things point to the notion that Halo Infinite's Season 3 is a good sign of where the game's future lies, and it's not overly surprising that its patch notes would reflect that by focusing on the game's multiplayer modes. According to the official patch notes from 343 Industries, players should see a substantial reduction in multiplayer rubber banding and jittering while interacting with environmental objects. Crashes should also be rarer, especially for players who are using non-English keyboard settings. Moreover, Escalation Slayer and Covert One Flag modes won't commonly disconnect players anymore. It may be worth pointing out, however, that even though the full patch notes are fairly substantial and include a wealth of fixes across the board, they do not seem to address the recent issue which got low-spec gamers locked out of Halo Infinite due to an increase in the game's minimum hardware requirements. It would appear that this is intended behavior, with the affected players simply being unlucky in the grand scheme of things.

One of the biggest concerns that Halo Infinite fans may have right now is the recent survey from Microsoft, which implied that Xbox may be moving away from Halo Infinite after all. While Infinite was initially billed as a comprehensive hub for a decade's worth of Halo content, these plans simply don't seem to have panned out for a variety of reasons, and the situation is seemingly rather complicated.

343 Industries denied it's being taken off of Halo in a recent Twitter post, which implies that the only big change that may be afoot is that Halo Infinite itself may be getting scuttled relatively soon. For the time being, Season 3 is still rather new, and there seems to be new content being made, but only time will tell what's in store for the franchise.
