A Halo Infinite leak has revealed the potential return of the classic Forge World map. The news will come as a massive step forward for fans of Halo Infinite's Forge mode, which is providing an enormous amount of content for the game.

Halo Infinite is a title that has divided the Halo community. While the game lacked key features at launch, 343 Industries has worked tirelessly to ensure the features landed eventually, and the game is now in good shape content-wise. It's been a tough journey for the company since Halo Infinite's release, after rumors suggested 343 Industries was done leading development of new Halo games. While these rumors seem to have been debunked, many fans are still unhappy with the overall direction of the franchise in the last few years, so these rumors may persist in the future.

The Forge World leak comes from the Halo Leaks Twitter account, which shows off a screenshot from Halo Infinite's version of the map. The map still appears to be a work in progress, with many unfinished models and textures. However, the scale does appear to be bigger than the original Halo Reach map, which is news that will excite potential creators if the map sees the light of day. Halo Infinite has struggled with leaks as of late, with a lot of the planned content for 2023 making its way online. Most recently, a Halo Infinite leak revealed voice lines for the returning Infection mode, which was previously unconfirmed. While leaks aren't ideal for 343 Industries, many players will be relieved to know that content is continuing to arrive for Halo Infinite.

Forge World first appeared in Halo Reach, and became an instant fan favorite for its scale which was unparalleled at the time. Such was the ambition, that many of the game's multiplayer maps were created within Forge World. Halo Infinite's Forge mode is a lot more advanced than that of Halo Reach, so the potential for incredible creations is much higher. With the Forge mode having its own scripting language, players can only wait patiently to see its full potential. Players are already using it for amazing designs, with one fan even using Halo Infinite's Forge to recreate Skyrim's Whiterun. This is only the beginning of what could be possible in 343 Industries' newest sandbox.

At the moment, any news regarding the future of the Halo franchise is good news after a period of uncertainty. While rumors suggest that Halo Infinite has canceled plans for new story content, it is good to hear that new content seems to be on the way for the Forge and Multiplayer modes. These updates could extend the game's lifespan by multiple years, which would be perfect as the series looks to figure out its own long-term future. While many players have already abandoned Halo Infinite, additions like Forge World give the game the best possible chance to win players back.

Halo Infinite is available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
