Since the multiplayer beta for Halo Infinite released for the public, many players have been enjoying what the game has to offer. With a cacophony of new maps, new weapons, and a distinct format that blends old-school Halo with modern gaming sensibilities, Halo Infinite has managed to turn quite a few heads within the gaming community so far. Now, one player has managed to demonstrate the potential of a new gameplay mechanic.

One of the newest additions to active gameplay in Halo Infinite is the grappling hook. While games like Halo Reach and Halo 4 introduced armor abilities that greatly increased mobility, such as the sprint ability, the jet-pack, and the thruster pack, the grappling hook is a considerably more dynamic ability that changes up gameplay in significant ways. However, as one player has since proven, the grappling hook can also be useful during active combat as well.

A Reddit user named syndrombe posted a gameplay clip where they used the grappling hook to launch their character towards enemy players and used the gravity hammer to get multiple kills. This clearly shows that the grappling hook has much more potential for differing gameplay scenarios that go well past getting the player from point A to point B on different maps in Halo Infinite.

Although, this application of the grappling hook is rather useful, it does beg to question other gameplay possibilities during Halo Infinite's multiplayer. Many players have been asking for player collision in Halo Infinite's multiplayer for awhile now and moments like this with the grappling hook really show the potential for exciting and interesting gameplay moments.

Players could use the grappling hook to ram themselves into other players causing them to go flying or have the grappling hook attach to an in-game object and send it hurling at enemies. Though, this also could potentially lead to unintentional gamebreaking moments. While players did managed to break the skybox in Halo 3, that feat was done so intentionally, not accidentally, like it presumably could in Halo Infinite.

In any case, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Halo Infinite going forward. Fans of the game should unfortunately not expect new modes or maps in Halo Infinite's multiplayer once the game finally launches, but even so, Halo fans have a lot to look forward to once the game finally releases. With the previous Halo installment releasing over six years ago, fans will finally get to see where the story of Halo continues from there.

Halo Infinite's Multiplayer Beta is available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, with the full game launching on December 8.
