Halo Infinite didn't get off to the best of starts according to many fans. Though Halo Infinite's multiplayer is free-to-play across both Xbox and PC, the game was introduced with heaps of microtransactions for players that wanted to customize their Spartans. Both the amount and pricing of these microtransactions was called out by fans, as Halo Infinite could charge players up to $8 to apply the color blue to their armor. Since Halo Infinite's multiplayer release, the microtransactions have been reconsidered by developer 343 Industries, though fans still have problems with the game.

The latest issue fans are discussing over social media is a lack of crossover content between Halo Infinite and the Halo TV series, which recently saw the release of its first episode "Contact." So far, the show has received somewhat of a lukewarm reception from audiences and critics, though members of Halo's cast have praised the TV series for things like its colorblind casting. Halo Infinite fans aren't so much concerned with the show as they are annoyed that the game has no crossover content with it.

In a discussion thread posted to Reddit, players of Halo Infinite called out the many ways in which a crossover between the game and TV series could have occurred. From a Silver Canon Fracture event to a Silver Team armor set, there were many ways Halo Infinite's multiplayer could've supported the show through cross-promotion. Some fans even said they would've been happy if the game released a simple pose or coating for armor like it does for other tournament events.

In the comments of the Reddit thread there were comparisons between the way Halo has treated its TV show to how League of Legends developer Riot cross-promoted the animated Netflix series Arcane. While the Halo TV series and Halo Infinite are certainly separate entities, it does seem strange that the game series has not made an attempt to support the TV show that could expand its universe and help Halo reach more people.

There is an argument to be made, though, that 343 has other pressing matters to work on in Halo Infinite. Desync issues in the online portion of Halo Infinite are still running rampant and can even be spotted by players during online matches. There are patches coming, though, such as one that fixes a lot of the first-person animations in Halo Infinite. To many fans, however, more work needs to be done.

Halo Infinite is available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
