Local_Floridian has shared a moment of empathy and respect between themselves and a player on the opposite team after they had stumbled upon one another in a match of Capture the Flag. But while the commonplace action is to start firing when an enemy is spotted, particularly in such a close vicinity, both players in this situation behave accordingly with the other and demonstrate why the Halo franchise's community is one of the many things to adore about Halo Infinite's multiplayer gameplay.

Local_Floridian can be seen making their way through Halo Infinite's Fragmentation map with a Battle Rifle before they begin teabagging as a friendly gesture once they see an opponent emerging through the treeline with a gravity hammer. It is unclear whether the player believes they would simply lose the encounter and are submitting themselves to the opponent, or if they merely hoped that the enemy player would decode their gesture prompt as a sign of kinship.

Predator2027, the "enemy" player in question who classifies more as friend than foe, has found Local_Floridian's documentation of the Halo Infinite encounter and responded with their own perspective. Predator2027 aptly states that "No words needed to be exchanged, we knew what to do." Fortunately, Predator2027 does instinctively register the prompt as a warm gesture and, just as the Local_Floridian is able to leave, the acquaintance drops the gravity hammer as a wholesome olive branch.

In turn, Local_Floridian offers up their BR and the two players accept one another's weapon before they separate and go on their way. Further, Predator2027 had only retrieved the gravity hammer from one of Halo Infinite's idle item pick-ups moments before running into Local_Floridian, which makes their offer of it a much kinder and more gracious gift.

Because this entire circumstance is predicated upon the rare percentile chance that an opponent would not simply start firing, it is special that these two players were able to connect on such a wavelength with each other and demonstrate their shared restraint and generosity.

Halo Infinite releases on December 8 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The multiplayer beta is available now.
