Microsoft kicked off its E3 2018 press conference with a cinematic trailer announcing Halo Infinite, the next game in its critically-acclaimed flagship franchise. Details on the game have been few and far between since its initial announcement at E3 2018, but it looks like fans can look forward to more on Halo Infinite at E3 2019 in June.

343 Industries head Bonnie Ross has confirmed that Halo Infinite will be at E3 2019, with game director Chris Lee set to make an appearance at the show. One has to imagine that E3 2019 will be the big unveiling for Halo Infinite's gameplay, story, and other features, especially since Microsoft is looking to "go big" at the event to capitalize on Sony's absence. However, Ross didn't actually go into detail about what fans can expect to see from Halo Infinite at E3 2019 beyond the fact that it will be there.

One possibility is that Microsoft will reveal Halo Infinite to be a cross-generation title at E3 2019. There have been rumors to suggest Halo Infinite will be a launch title for the next Xbox in addition to releasing for the Xbox One, and if so, it would make sense for that to be announced at the event. Especially so if there is any truth to the rumors that Microsoft will unveil the next Xbox consoles at E3 this year.

If Microsoft does reveal the next Xbox consoles at E3 2019, it will definitely be living up to its promise of going "big" at the show. It would also make it likely that the next Xbox consoles would launch in 2020, as many analysts have predicted in recent months.

Meanwhile, Halo Infinite isn't the only game that's already been confirmed to appear at E3 2019. CD Projekt Red's massive RPG Cyberpunk 2077 has also been confirmed for the show, so gamers have a lot to look forward to come June 11.

Halo Infinite is in development for PC and Xbox One.
