Halo Infinite is set to be a major release for the Xbox consoles and many are hoping that the game can breathe new life into the acclaimed franchise. The upcoming Halo is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games of the year, but there are still plenty of elements about the game that are still unknown. A new promotion alongside Monster Energy is giving players clues about the progression system, although it is unclear exactly how valuable the promotion will be to players of the title.

The upcoming Halo Infinite looks to incorporate sandbox elements to the tried and tested first-person shooter mechanics which made the franchise an initial hit. There is plenty of speculation about how Halo Infinite can build on previous titles and the game seems to be meeting expectations by adding battle royale elements as well as free multiplayer. However, a Monster Energy promotion adds another layer as it is offering free double XP in the game when it releases.

The Monster Energy drinks have yet again teamed up with Halo and the double XP is connected to an upcoming "AR Experience" according to the packaging. This experience is said to begin September 1 and many will hope that it will be the reveal of the highly anticipated free multiplayer that the game is said to offer. However, whether XP will help players gain new mechanics to help them in gameplay or will lead to purely aesthetic rewards is still unclear. With that in mind, it will be interesting to see if taking advantage of this promotion will have a tangible impact when the game launches or if it will offer small perks for participating players.

It is unlikely that this kind of marketing will offer consumers any significant advantage in the game but it will get players talking about the drink and Halo Infinite before its release. This kind of market presence may well help the title make a bigger impact but some may yet be convinced of the qualities of the game particularly after some fans were disappointed with the graphics presented in the Halo Infinite gameplay.

While this kind of crossover marketing will likely boost the presence of Halo Infinite and the appeal of Monster Energy drinks, the upcoming title will still need to convince players through gameplay and enjoyable experience. With that said, the Halo franchise has a good track record of quality games and as a result, the double XP may be an added bonus for players.

Halo Infinite is in development for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
