New events are coming to Halo Infinite very soon, and with those events come cosmetic rewards for players. Much like the Fracture: Tenrai and Winter Contingency events, all Halo Infinite players will have to do is play to receive free cosmetic items.

The next event coming to Halo Infinite is Cyber Showdown. Starting on January 18, the event will feature cosmetics inspired by synthwave music, which is a specific subgenre of electronic music associated with popular media of the 1980s. The music is known for its bright, colorful music videos and electronic sounds, so players can expect brightly colored, flashy armor to add to their collection.

One of these Halo Infinite armor pieces is an ornament that players will be able to attach to their helmets. The ornament in question, a brightly-colored liberty spike Mohawk, will reportedly be a free cosmetic that players can add to their armory by participating in the event. Reddit user Negative_Tangelo_131 posted a close-up screenshot of the Mohawk, showing how it looks on a player's helmet.

The Mohawk looks like it is a set of projected lights coming out of the top of the helmet rather than an attached ornament. The spike lights feature 3 different colors, with the two front spikes being white, the third spike being a dark pink color, and the last three spikes being the same shade of purple. The last 3 spikes are also shorter than the front 3, making for a sort of simulated tapering that could be seen in a real liberty spike cut.

The Mohawk is an exciting addition that has the potential to be a flashy ornament if done correctly. For one, it would be cool to see the spikes change colors or sizes. Another cool feature would be the ability to change the colors that present themselves in the spikes. Also, the Mohawk opens the door for other similar Halo Infinite comsetic ideas utilizing helmet lights. Perhaps players will see lights that project symbols or other effects above players' helmets in the future.

With the Cyber Showdown event coming soon, the Tactical Ops event following shortly after, and the continuation of Halo Infinite's Fracture: Tenrai event throughout the Spring of 2022, it looks as though there will be no shortage of content and cosmetics for players to grab up. If the new, free Mohawk is anything to go by, rewards for these events will be an exciting addition to players' armories.

Halo Infinite is now available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
