After waiting over 6 years, fans have finally been able to jump into multiplayer matches in Halo Infinite on Xbox consoles and PC. As the latest installment in the series, the developers at 343 Industries have introduced several new features to keep the gameplay exciting for players. Among these added features is equipment that can be picked up around multiplayer maps, such as the Repulsor.

The Repulsor allows players to launch objects, including enemy Spartans, and deflect projectiles. In addition, players can use the equipment to repulse themselves high into the air in order to access hard-to-reach areas of maps. As a result of these multiple uses, it is doubtlessly effective at gaining the upper hand in multiplayer engagements. Recently, one player pulled off an incredible play using this new feature.

In a post on Reddit, a user known as EchoMasaru shared a highlight from a recent game of Halo Infinite. During a Slayer game on the Launch Site map, the Reddit user had a chance to display the utility of the Repulsor equipment. The video started with the player running up a ramp and onto a large overhanging platform. After a few moments, they jumped down and straight into the path of a charging Spartan holding a Gravity Hammer.

Typically, the situation would seem grim for EchoMasaru, except this time they had something that the hammer-wielding Spartan had not anticipated. As the opponent moved in to deliver a lethal blow, the Reddit user activated their Repulsor. The ensuing blast from the equipment sent the enemy flying backward. However, what happened next was unexpected. Just as the opposing Spartan landed on the ground, an ally Warthog entered the screen. Before the enemy could react, the vehicle hit the Spartan, resulting in a splatter kill.

Since posting this hilarious clip of the perfectly-timed Repulsor play, numerous members of the Halo Infinite community on Reddit have taken notice. With over 7,500 upvotes in less than a day, many were caught off guard by the ending of the video. After watching the clip, some noted that the Repulsor was their favorite equipment in the multiplayer, commenting that it was very effective at countering the close-range Energy Sword and Gravity Hammer. In addition, others joked about the untimely demise of the enemy Spartan. "This is why we are told at a young age to look both ways before crossing a road to gravity hammer someone," one person quipped.

It’s often exciting to see gamers post some of their best highlights from Halo Infinite. Besides this Repulsor clip from EchoMasaru, another fan recently shared a video of an awkward sword fight they had while playing Super Fiesta. Time will tell what other clips are captured by talented fans in the coming days.

Halo Infinite is available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
