Over a month has passed since the official launch of Halo Infinite, as well as two months since the launch of the game's free multiplayer. Over that time, Halo Infinite players have been able to explore the game's current content in full, leading to discoveries in the multiplayer and campaign.

However, one of those discoveries was connectivity issues when queuing up for a game of Halo Infinite's Big Team Battle mode. Bugs in Halo Infinite have been a problem since launch, but this bug was particularly frustrating for players. The issue caused players to be unable to connect to matches, and seemed to get worse if more players queued up together. This resulted in many players being unable to play Big Team Battle.

Regardless, if the new hotfix patch works, players will be able to play Big Team Battle matches consistently, be it alone or with friends. The news about the patch was broken by Twitter account @leaks_infinite, and users were quick to comment in excitement.

Unfortunately, that initial excitement may be overshadowed by the fact that the patch might not work as intended. Already, comments under @leaks_infinite's tweet were mixed between excitement for the fix and disappointment. The disappointment came from users who said the patch did not work as intended, and that they are still experiencing connectivity issues trying to play Big Team Battle. Halo Infinite bugs can be frustrating, and being unable to play with friends is no exception.

Player frustrations will only increase with a dud patch as Big Team Battle will remain unplayable, but it's unclear just yet how widespread the continuing issues are. Like with Halo Infinite's shop price drop, improving the game to fit players' expectations may be integral to its future, so hopefully the fixes work out.

If the hotfix ends up working as intended for all players, it should be a great thing for the game's multiplayer. Big Team Battle is a mode that's synonymous with Halo multiplayer, and its massive scale and tons of vehicles lead to intense battles and chaotic gameplay. It's remained a fan favorite since its introduction, so hopefully the problems are ironed out soon.

The latest update to Halo Infinite, which came prior to the hotfix, brings the Cyber Showdown event. So fans can check that out while they wait and see if the Big Team Battle issues are truly resolved.

Halo Infinite is now available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
