Halo Infinite will be the first in the series to launch on PC simultaneously with Xbox. In celebration of this, 343 Industries has teamed up with AMD to create a special limited edition Halo Infinite graphics card.

To clarify, Halo Infinite is not the series' first time appearing on PC. Back in the day, the original Halo: Combat Evolved received an official PC port, and more recently, 343 Industries brought the entirety of Halo: The Master Chief Collection to PC, which in hindsight, likely helped the team prepare for Halo Infinite on PC. Aside from Halo 5: Guardians, it is possible to play the entirety of the Halo saga on PC, that just a couple of years ago, seemed like something that was never going to happen. In the run up to Halo Infinite, 343 Industries just began Halo: The Master Chief Collection's final season titled Mythic, bringing 100 new tiers of content for players to unlock for free.

In a new Xbox Wire, 343 Industries confirms its partnering with AMD to create a limited edition Halo Infinite graphics card. For two years 343 Industries and AMD have been working together in developing Halo Infinite for the PC, and as Noah Benesch, Product Marketing Manager at Xbox, puts it, the two studios "agreed that ushering in the next era of Halo on PC called for something a little extra." Enter the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT Halo Infinite Limited Edition graphics card, the flagship of AMD's graphics card offerings and the "fastest gaming graphics card AMD [has] ever developed." Like the limited edition Halo Infinite PC gear from Razer, the graphics card takes design influences from Master Chief's signature green armor with blue highlights to signify Cortana.

Unfortunately, this beautiful graphics card will only be acquired by a small amount of players. The graphics card will not be available for purchase, but, Benesch writes, "AMD, Halo, and other partners will be offering players multiple opportunities over the coming weeks to get their hands on one." This may be a let down for some but due to ongoing chip and hardware shortages, this graphics card would likely have sold for a small fortune. Likewise, if the limited edition Halo Infinite Xbox Series X scalping was an indication, once the graphics card went on sale, they would likely be turned around for even more outrageous prices.

Seeing 343 Industries give so much consideration to Halo's PC community is still a surreal sight after so many years of it seeming so far out of reach. Within roughly two years time, Halo on PC went from being an afterthought to, as 343 Industries' partnership with AMD indicates, a primary developmental target right beside the Xbox consoles. Between PC, console, and xCloud, there are now more ways to play Halo than ever before and that is great not just for fans of the series but for gaming in general. Even if Halo 5: Guardians never comes to PC, having the rest of the series is amazing nonetheless.

Halo Infinite launches on December 8, 2021 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
