Since the original game was released in November 2001, the Halo series has seen a multitude of allies and enemies populate the universe during Master Chief and Cortana's journey. The sheer number of characters inside this epic sci-fi universe can be a bit hard to keep track of for lore-centric players, and it can become even more confusing when some of these characters are only ever known by a title like Arbiter or Prophet. One keen player, though, is making this a bit easier for other Halo players by sharing the real names of some of these characters alongside their respective picture to ensure others know who is who.

The Halo series kicked off in 2001 with Halo: Combat Evolved from Bungie, flinging players to the far future as the super-soldier Master Chief amid an intergalactic war between humanity and the alien Covenant. Chief would be aided in his fight against the Covenant by the A.I. Cortana as they investigate the mysterious Halo ring and why the Covenant is so interested in it. Bungie would go on to produce four additional games in the series before the reigns would be handed off to 343 Studios, which has shepherded the tent-pole Xbox franchise since 2011 and saw the latest entry, Halo Infinite, released in December 2021.

As mentioned above, Halo has a massive cast of characters, but many are almost never referred to by name in the games, and instead, the only name they have is a title. Reddit user Red-Raptor3 decided to tackle this in a post on the official Halo subreddit providing the names of some of the biggest players in Halo's grandiose narrative. Some of the characters Red-Raptor3 includes are the Prophets of Truth, Mercy, and Regret, the Didact, the Librarian, and even the Rookie from Halo 3: ODST.

The characters given a spotlight in this post could be the first in what could be a series for Red-Raptor3 if they were to continue making posts like this. Aside from the Rookie, the only characters referred to by their full names are Edward Buck, who returns as a Spartan-VI in Halo 5: Guardians, and the ONI agent joining Buck's squad, Veronica Dare. The rest of the squad - Romeo, Dutch, and Mickey - are only ever referred to by those names, so some players may appreciate getting to know this squad a bit better.

A more recent choice would be Halo Infinite's The Harbinger who, as her title implies, is the first of a new potential enemy race in The Endless making its way to the series. However, given how new The Harbinger and The Endless are to the series, it may be some time before players uncover any personal information about this powerful alien race.

Halo: Infinite is currently available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
