Halo Infinite is on the approach; it's been a wild ride. Some may favor Halo 2—others Halo 3. Some people may even like Halo 5: Guardians the most. Whatever your fave is, Halo's multiplayer maps are some of the most iconic in video games.

Not everyone is going to agree with the contents of this list. That's okay because each person is entitled to their opinion. Hopefully, you agree with some of the maps in this list. This is ranking the 10 best Halo multiplayer maps of all time. Enjoy!

10 Zenith (Halo 2 Anniversary)

The version of Ascension shown in the above photo is called Zenith, and it is included in the Halo 2: Anniversary edition. Halo 2: Anniversary was released as part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection and not as a standalone title.

There are no plans to make it available for purchase in the future. Racing for the Banshee, hiding behind the central construct, and sniping is a thrill in Zenith. Playing in gorgeous 1080p 60fps or 4K resolution is Halo 2 at its best.

9 Beaver Creek (Halo 2)

The original Beaver Creek map is titled Battle Creek, and it released with Halo: Combat Evolved. Some would argue that Battle Creek is more impactful for being the original, but it's difficult to ignore Battle Creek's improvements.

Reaching the top of the central pillar is less difficult in Beaver Creek. This opens up the possibility for more action-packed matches. The amount of detail Beaver Creek adds makes it a significant improvement. Beaver Creek is one of the best Halo remake maps we've seen yet.

8 Prisoner (Halo: Combat Evolved)

Often, it is the most simplistic maps that are the most effective Halo multiplayer maps. This level has a basic three-level design. One might think, given the bland colors of the floors and walls, that it isn't worth playing. Add rocket launchers to the equation, and you get some of the most explosive battles seen in Halo multiplayer.

A group could get a solid two or three hours out of playing this map. The map Prisoner was introduced in Halo: Combat Evolved, and we won't ever forget it.

7 The Pit (Halo 3)

The Pit was introduced in Halo 3 and appeared in many of the game's multiplayer playlists. The close quarters action contained in The Pit is arguably the best of any map. Given the size of The Pit, it is best played with teams of three or two.

Team Doubles was a common playlist, and BRs (Battle Rifles) was a suitable starting weapon. A heated exchange of firepower in The Pit was enough to get your stomach churning. The Pit is the perfect map to develop your skill with short and medium-range Halo weapons.

6 Zanzibar (Halo 2)

Stonetown, a Halo 2: Anniversary map may be considered an improvement by some players, but Zanzibar provided long-lasting memories that we won't soon forget. Not enough improvements went into Stonetown to make it the superior map.

In team-based matches, players either spawn by the beach or inside Zanzibar's base. This map continues to remain relevant years after the release of Halo 2. The central rotating windmill can be utilized by players to reach higher ground and obtain iconic weapons like the Energy Sword.

5 Boardwalk (Halo Reach)

Halo Reach contains a variety of exceptional maps, and its debatable which of them are the best. The map has a smart and intuitive appearance. Its futuristic design is spectacular, yet it is one map that is commonly forgotten.

Slayer and team-based modes work well on Boardwalk. The action tends to be focused in the center of the map, so keep your head up and your weapon loaded as you walk across the boardwalk.

4 Guardian (Halo 3)

Game modes such as Oddball and Team Doubles are well-suited for the multiplayer map Guardian. In a Halo multiplayer map without vehicles, players want close-quarter action and Guardian delivers just that. Multiple Gravity Lifts make it possible for players to launch distances quickly. Cowering from a firefight is possible on Guardian because of its various escape routes.

Weapons such as the Gravity Hammer and items like the active camouflage add flair to the map. We've all played this map, so it shouldn't be surprising why it's considered one of the best Halo multiplayer maps of all time.

3 Ivory Tower (Halo 2)

This medium-large sized map doesn't contain vehicles but is the setting for some of the most grueling firefights in Halo. Notable sections of the map are its central Rocket Launcher spawn area, the part of the level with the Gravity Lifts and elevator, as well as the staircase with the hard glass wall. Expect to throw a ton of grenades in Ivory Tower.

The name is fitting since the walls are ivory colored. Sniping is possible, but using dual SMGs or Needlers is too epic on this nostalgic Halo 2 map.

2 Lockout Anniversary (Halo 2: Anniversary)

In esports, Lockout is common due to its close quarters and demand for versatility. Players will have to adapt to a harsh, cold environment to win matches. Fog can skew visibility, making it arduous for some players. The map is unforgiving since there is a danger of falling off the map to your demise.

Like many Halo maps, Lockout received a remake. More than a hundred changes were added to the Master Chief Collection's version to ensure Lockout plays its best. Remakes of Halo maps aren't always better, but in this case, it's hard to disagree.

1 Coagulation (Halo 2)

Coagulation is a remake of the map Blood Gulch from Halo: Combat Evolved. Some would agree that Blood Gulch is the more memorable and impactful Halo map, and they could be right. Both Coagulation and Blood Gulch are exceptional Capture the Flag locations.

Two bases make flags challenging to capture, and the map's mid zone and outskirts provide heated battles. Players can use vehicles like the Warthog to traverse the map or try their luck at the map's edges. Coagulation is more refined than Blood Gulch, which is why it deserves its place on this list.
