During their press conference at Gamescom today, Microsoft showed off plenty of gameplay for upcoming Xbox One games, including the highly-anticipated Halo 5: Guardians. In fact, Xbox went beyond just showing off gameplay and provided a quick duel between two Halo teams in a newly announced Halo 5 multiplayer map.

When the competition wrapped up, Xbox announced that the winning team members would each receive a new Halo 5: Guardians themed 1 TB Xbox One. Naturally, such a device can’t remain that exclusive, and luckily the team at Xbox feels the same way. After revealing the uniquely themed console, Xbox announced that gamers can pre-order their own Halo 5: Guardians 1 TB Xbox One today, which will ship on October 20 with a digital copy of Halo 5.

While those who pre-order the Halo 5: Guardians Xbox One can immediately install the newest Halo game, they’ll need to wait until the official release date of October 27, 2015 to play it.

The Halo 5: Guardians Xbox One joins the many other game-themed Xbox Ones that have released since the console launched two years ago. These other game-themed consoles include last year's Titanfall console, and the upcoming Forza Motorsport 6  Xbox One, which also features a 1 TB hard drive.

However, unlike those other consoles, the $500 Halo 5: Guardians Xbox One will come with a handful of extras on top of the uniquely skinned console and controller. Owners will receive the Warzone REQ bundle, which features 14 requisition packs for Halo 5. They'll also receive a Guardian action figure, Blue & Osiris team dossiers, Spartan Locke’s Classified Orders, and a copy of the Halo: The Fall of Reach animated series. On top of all that, the console will also feature unique Halo-themed sound effects.

From that description alone, there’s no doubt the new Halo 5: Guardians Xbox One will sell well, especially considering the fact it arrives near the holiday season. But in case that isn’t quite enough incentive for gamers to upgrade from Xbox 360 or transition from another console, Microsoft also announced the Xbox One’s backward compatibility will officially launch for all Xbox One owners in November, meaning they'll be able to play all Xbox One games and over a hundred Xbox 360 games by the end of the year.
