Xbox Australia announces its plans to show off the latest chapter in the Halo story from the world’s largest aerial screen, above the coast of Sydney.
Exciting news for Australian Halo fans as Xbox Australia has announced its intentions to show the first 15 minutes of the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians campaign on the world’s largest aerial screen, which will be flown 2,000 feet (609 meters) above the coastline of Sydney. Fans who want to avoid minor spoilers for the game will have to keep their eyes off the skies for a short while as the screen passes by.
The screen will make its ascent into the sky at 7:30PM on October 26th, just hours before Halo 5‘s release on October 27th, and will travel along the coast of Australia from Curl Curl to Coogee before turning around and heading back. Supposedly, the screen will be visible from over three kilometres away, allowing a huge number of people a chance to get a glimpse of the upcoming shooter. One lucky Halo fan will even have the chance to play the game on the big screen, operating the controls from a helicopter above Sydney’s Bondi Beach. The fan will be selected from a list of consumers who have pre-ordered Halo 5: Guardians or its limited edition console bundle from the Australian Microsoft store.
For those fans who are looking to get up to date on Halo‘s story before the release of Halo 5, XboxUK has released a recap video, retelling the events of Halo 4 in order to remind fans what they have to look forward to in the upcoming game. The soundtrack for the 343 Industries’ futuristic shooter has also been released online for all those that can’t wait for more Halo content.
In the last week, details on the game’s new multiplayer modes have emerged, including a full list of multiplayer playlists that will be available on day one, alongside the Halo 5 campaign. The Halo series has always been well known for its popular multiplayer modes and this looks to be the most advanced version yet. According to Xbox, over 20 million matches were played in the game’s beta which likely means that 343 Industries have received a ton of feedback in order to make their multiplayer stable and balanced.
Halo 5: Guardians will launch on October 27th, exclusively for Xbox One. Xbox users who have preordered the game on the Xbox Marketplace can now pre-load the game so that it is ready to launch as soon as the game unlocks at 12:01 EDT.
