Halo 4 was one of the standout titles of E3 2012, and that's not a surprise to anyone who has been following the game since it was revealed at last year's E3. The title's graphics may very well be some of the best found on the Xbox 360, and the hands-on time we had with Halo 4's multiplayer made us antsy for more.

While gamers everywhere anxiously await more new information on the impending sci-fi blockbuster, we can't help but want to look over the concept art that helped set the stage for the fourth appearance of the iconic Master Chief.

343 Industries has spared no expense on any of the concept art that has been released to the public. Much of it debuted in the April issue of Game Informer magazine, as many dedicated Halo fans will immediately point out, but there are a few within the gallery that are so new that their digital paint has yet to even dry. Each concept depicts either a scene from the campaign or a portion of a multiplayer map; along with a couple pictures of Spartan 117 and Cortana.

Scope out the concepts for some of the locales gamers will be tromping around on in Halo 4 later this year.

If Halo 4's campaign plays half as well as the concept art depicts, then gamers are in for a treat. The first ever campaign footage shown off at Microsoft's E3 press conference looked great, and the introduction to the new Forerunner-designed enemies (which look like something straight from Tron) made many attendees at the event drool. Add in a refined multiplayer experience and the addition of the free, episodic, story-driven Spartan Ops, and there's little doubt that the game won't live up to the hype set by its fan base.

Halo 4 will be invading the Xbox 360 on November 6th.
