Halo fan-edits have been a popular form of gaming media ever since Red vs. Blue first came to YouTube in 2003. Although the show is still going, plenty of fans have tried their own hands at making Halo content, which has led to an iconic Monty Python scene being recreated with the new armor sets that have been added to the game.

Posted to r/Halo by Reddit user u/mayonnaisexd_, the clip recreates the classic conversation between King Arthur and the Black Knight which ends in a sword fight and plenty of "flesh wounds." The scene recreation was clearly inspired by the addition of medieval-looking armor sets to Halo: The Master Chief Collection for the start of Season 8.

The video uses audio straight from the movie to great effect and, although Halo doesn't have dismemberment systems, still portrays the Black Knight's loss of limbs in a clever and funny way. It should give any Monty Python fan a chuckle and hit Red Vs. Blue fans with a wave of nostalgia as it harkens back to the days when the show was done entirely inside Halo itself.

The armor that was used in the video is a part of Mythic, Season 8 in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The video uses three helmets for its characters: King Arthur wears the Blackguard Tearful Bishop helmet, the Black Knight wears the Blackguard Warfeast helmet, and, although he doesn't have any lines in the video, Patsy wears the Blackguard Carrion Crow helmet.

The excitement surrounding Halo right now can be felt across the entire games industry as 343 Industries gears up for the launch of Halo Infinite later this year. Now that it finally has a release date fans are counting down the days until December 8 and have been playing plenty of The Master Chief Collection in the meantime.

The second Halo Infinite multiplayer technical preview finally has a start date, so that should help tide players over until the game properly releases. At this point following its year-long delay, fans are combing over every detail they can get their hands on in hopes of finding out more about the game that's been so mysterious up until this point. It's currently unclear if there will be another multiplayer preview following the one that's coming up, so fans are eager to get into the title and try things out one last time before the game launches.

Halo Infinite launches on December 8 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
