The success of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection bundle on PC has been impressive, but also a long time coming. Both Halo Reach and Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary have launched relatively smoothly so far. But it seems that 343 Industries is getting ready for the next phase, with Halo 2 PC testing starting tomorrow.

343 community representative Tyler Davis, also known as Postums, provided an update to Halo fans today on Twitter. Davis said that "All Ring 3 blockers have been resolved," referring to requirements necessary for testing to move forward. He goes on to confirm that "Halo 2 and Halo 2: Anniversary flighting to begin on Friday, 4/17."

Unfortuntately, testing for Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC isn't open to everyone. Access to the Halo 2 test flight requires an invite from 343. Those invitations will assuredly be going out sometime between now and the end of Friday. That means that PC gamers should check their emails in case they want to spend the weekend with Halo 2.

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic led to some Halo fans worrying that the rollout of Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC would be delayed. 343 appears to have transitioned to Microsoft's work from home policies somewhat smoothly. Whether 343 will be able to manage finishing Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC before the launch of Halo Infinite later this year remains to be seen, but progress is clearly being made.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available now on PC and Xbox One.
