Back in 2004, Halo 2 launched as a sequel to the original game that took the world by storm. Containing many improvements to the story, combat, and multiplayer, the title was influential for introducing many features that are common in online gaming today. Over 15 years later, however, PC fans are finally able to play the remastered Halo 2: Anniversary 2014 edition which includes a digitally overhauled campaign.

Even though graphics were brought up to modern day standards, the story detailing humanity's struggle to survive against the Covenant and Flood remains the same. But Halo 2: Anniversary also adds several new collectibles called terminals. Some of these messages provide background on Halo lore while others foreshadowed the release of Halo 5: Guardians prior to its 2015 release. Although they are not a requirement to progress through the campaign, fans looking for the full story should search for these control panels in-game.

Terminal Locations

There are 13 terminals scattered throughout the story with one hidden in each campaign mission. While each terminal isn't exactly out in the open, players that explore every area in detail will be able to access all of them given enough time.

Cairo Station Terminal

The first terminal that can be found in-game is at Cairo Station. Players first need to destroy the second Orbital Defense System to gain access to a hallway and the armory that holds the terminal. Once inside, dispatch the two invisible elites before interacting with the display.

Outskirts Terminal

During the Outskirts mission, instead of immediately entering the tunnel breach in the final section, first check the small building to the left. Immediately turn once inside to be face-to-face with the second terminal.

Metropolis Terminal

While on the Metropolis mission, the third terminal can be accessed after destroying 3 wraiths outside the building with marines. The terminal itself is behind several crates in the hallway after Halo 2: Anniversary players are allowed inside.

The Arbiter Terminal

The fourth terminal is located inside a room filled with 2 conveyor belts transporting fusion cores. Walk past the belts and keep moving right to find a ramp goes up to a second floor and the terminal right behind the player.

Oracle Terminal

After an elevator ride, players can break window glass to get into a room filled with Flood and Heretics. The fifth terminal is behind a wall to the left from the entry point.

Delta Halo Terminal

Cortana's orders will bring players to a building where they need to extend a bridge. After getting to the upper floor with the controls, the sixth terminal is slightly to the left.

Regret Terminal

Players can find the seventh terminal in a giant room filled with Elites, Jackals, and other enemies. After clearing them all out, walk to the left and behind the giant hologram.

Sacred Icon Terminal

After dropping down multiple tunnels, players will come to a floor that has a view of the outside. Move to the right and go behind the first wall there to find the eight terminal.

Quarantine Zone Terminal

After moving through a burning building, the ninth terminal will be at ground level, behind a series of small alcoves on the right side. Using invisibility is recommended to avoid enemies throughout the hallways.

Gravemind Terminal

The tenth terminal is located in an area with a big skybox. Instead of following the directions to exit the area, players should inspect the small alcove to the left.

Uprising Terminal

Once players arrive past the river and waterfall, they will see a bridge and wraith up ahead. Following instructions to move forward, go ahead to the right and check behind several pillars to find the eleventh terminal.

High Charity Terminal

The twelfth terminal will be found in a room past a light pink door with an energy sword in the middle. Players should look directly to the left upon entering to spot the terminal.

The Great Journey Terminal

During the last Halo 2 mission, players will find the thirteenth and final terminal in a room filled with jail cells. There will be one with a still functional barrier on the upper level to the right. Simply shoot the generator to destroy it and access the terminal.
