Halloween Kills, the latest entry in a franchise that has spanned over forty years, doesn't disappoint when it comes to ratcheting up the body count. After surviving his previous encounter with the extended Strode family in the last film, Michael Myers continues to terrorize the Haddonfield community with his trademark mask and kitchen knife in the aptly named Halloween Kills.

The movie doesn't exactly reinvent the wheel, but one detail, in particular, is glaringly apparent. The gruesomeness of the kills in this film outdoes every preceding entry in the series, hands down. The amount of blood and violence on display certainly makes for some interesting death scenes for the victims. Warning: Spoilers for Halloween Kills are about to follow.

6 The Firemen Scene

Michael Killing the Firemen From Halloween Kills

Slasher movie enthusiasts know full well that their favorite monsters are essentially immune to permanent death. It should come as no surprise, then, that Michael escapes the inferno of Laurie's home. When a squad of firefighters arrives to put out the blaze, they discover a very much alive Michael Myers on the scene.

To say that Michael dispatches these men with ease is a bit of an understatement. He singlehandedly slaughters them in a variety of creative ways. One particularly unfortunate individual takes an ax shot through his face shield. Perhaps the most grisly kill, however, comes when Michael shoves an electric circular saw into another man's face.

5 Roger & Sondra

Michael Killing Roger From Halloween Kills

The scene with the first responders is really just a warm-up routine for the immortal slasher. Next, he sets his sights on a neighbor's house, whose occupants are Roger (Lenny Clarke) and Sondra (Diva Tyler). The scene begins playfully enough, as the elderly residents are in the process of trying to figure out how to fly a toy drone. Unexpectedly (and unfortunately), Michael crashes the party.

These two hapless characters are literally torn apart by Michael in a scene that doesn't lack blood. Roger is impaled through the neck with shards of glass. Meanwhile, Sondra is dispatched when Michael slits her throat with a broken fluorescent light fixture. The ruthless killer then deposits the entire kitchen's worth of cutlery into Roger's back, as if the latter wasn't dead enough already.

4 Marcus

Marcus, Vanessa, Lindsey & Marion From Halloween Kills

Marcus (played by Michael Smallwood) and his wife Vanessa (Carmela McNeal) plan to spend their Halloween evening at a local bar. When news spreads of Michael's reemergence, Marcus, Vanessa, and the rest of the town decide to exact some vigilante justice. However, things don't pan out very well for the married couple. It turns out that hunting a seemingly immortal killer isn't the best moonlighting activity, and Marcus winds up another victim.

Marcus's death scene is yet another example of gory mayhem. When Michael breaks into their car, Marcus finds himself in the backseat. Rather humorously, Marcus tries to fend off the villain by trying to strangle him with his stethoscope from his doctor's costume. Michael is barely affected and proceeds to stab Marcus in the eye with a knife. Once again, there's no shortage of blood in this shot.

3 Vanessa

Michael Myers From Halloween Kills

Marcus's wife, Vanessa, doesn't fare much better. When Michael arrives on the scene, Vanessa initially flees the vehicle, leaving Marcus and Marion Chambers (Nancy Stephens) to deal with him. When both these characters meet their ends, Vanessa reappears wielding a massive hand cannon.

At first, it appears Vanessa might actually do some real damage to Michael. She fires a few shots in his direction, which unfortunately all miss (go figure). In one of the more creative death scenes of the film, Michael kicks open a car door as Vanessa approaches. The door knocks the gun loose from her grip, causing Vanessa to inadvertently shoot herself in the head.

2 Big John

Michael Myers & Little John From Halloween Kills

To put it mildly, Michael Myers isn't in a very good mood in Halloween Kills. The sheer brutality of his methods throughout the film speaks volumes about his state of mind (or lack thereof). When Michael discovers strangers currently living in his childhood home, the results are easy to fathom.

One of the occupants, Big John (Scott MacArthur), meets a pretty agonizing end upon running into Michael. In a horrific scene, Michael gouges out Big John's eyes in a shot that unsurprisingly doesn't skimp on the blood and gore. Viewers who are liable to bouts of queasiness may even want to skip this death scene.

1 Cameron

Michael & Cameron From Halloween Kills

Confronting Michael on his home turf tends to be a foolish proposition in the Halloween franchise. Yet, time and again, that's exactly what characters attempt to do, with unfailingly predictable outcomes. Towards the end of the film, Allyson (Andi Matichak) and her ex-boyfriend Cameron (Dylan Arnold) seek to confront Michael in his childhood home.

That venture doesn't end well for poor Cameron. He gets stabbed and manhandled by Michael in a clearly one-sided encounter. Allyson tries to distract Michael from killing Cameron but to no avail. Cameron is finished off by having his neck snapped almost effortlessly by the ticked-off villain.
