X-Men star Halle Berry has opened up about her long and successful career, and the possibility of returning to the X-Men franchise at some point down the road.
Berry is known for playing Storm in the live-action X-Men movies. The character is one of the mutant leaders of the X-Men team who also commands the power of lightning and thunder storms thanks to her weather manipulation abilities. Berry's performance as the character was iconic and a nice refresher from the commonly panned Catwoman film that she also starred in.
During a Vanity Fair interview about her whole career, Berry discussed potentially reprising the role of Storm in a new X-Men project. "I would absolutely return to it, it's a beloved character, I loved playing Storm, and people love Storm," she said. The actress also went on to add that it would have to obviouusly make sense for her to return to the character if she were to end up doing it, saying, "if we could find a version that would make sense, or a storyline that would make sense, I would absolutely do that, for sure."
With the X-Men currently MIA, many are wondering how Marvel Studios will bring the popular super powered team to the MCU. The X-Men are known for their superpowered ablilities and for having iconic villains, not to mention storylines that shake up the Marvel world as a whole. When they get brought into to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans will no doubt be more than excited to see them return.
It's really refreshing to see actors becoming more aware of what they say "yes" to. More talent are becoming aware of how much these characters mean to the fans and a lot of them won't just take the cash grab, even if the opportunity is many peoples' dream come true. Many actors and actresses will only return if the story makes sense and they were able to write their character in correctly, doing it justice.
Marvel Studios' X-Men movie has many challenges to overcome. It needs to choose the right actors, have a big ensemble that will sign on for multiple movies, and make sure the cast members all have the chemistry to compliment each other on screen. The upcoming movie doesn't have to be something like the Avengers, but as long as it is able to hold up to the bar set by the previous X-Men movies, then fans will no doubt be satisfied.
