Academy-award-winning actress Halle Berry is set to star in the upcoming Roland Emmerich disaster film Moonfall. Recently, Berry discussed the new film and also hinted at the future of her role in the John Wick franchise.

In the third film of the franchise, John Wick 3: Parabellum, Berry plays John's fellow dog-loving ally, Sofia Al Azwar. Sofia is the manager of the Casablanca-based continental hotel, which like its New York counterpart, hosts all kinds of shady underworld figures.

Sofia is one of the few characters who John can turn to after he is declared "excommunicado" by the sinister High Table. Berry's character may not take up too much screen time in John Wick 3, but she certainly left her mark. Fans will likely remember her for her loyal and equally deadly canine companions. In an interview with IGN, Berry revealed that her character will in fact not be in the upcoming fourth film of the Keanu Reeves action franchise. However, that doesn't mean fans have seen the last of the deadly manager of the Casablanca Continental Hotel. Berry said, "There could possibly be a Sofia...her own movie. So she might not be in John Wick, but she might be doing her own thingy-thingy."

The massively popular John Wick franchise already has a number of upcoming spinoffs in the works. This includes the limited prequel series The Continental, which stars Mel Gibson and is set to premiere on Starz later this year. A spinoff film titled Ballerina starring Knives Out and No Time To Die actress Ana de Armas is also in development. A fourth John Wick film is also in the works, but like many films in the last few years, its release date has been pushed back several times. It is currently scheduled for a theatrical release in 2023.

Ever since she starred as Bond girl Jinx in the Pierce Brosnan James Bond, Die Another Day, Berry has developed a reputation for taking on intensely physical, action-heavy roles, such as Storm in the Fox X-Men films and the much-maligned Catwoman movie. More recently, Berry starred in the Netflix film Bruised, which she also directed. In the film, Berry plays a washed-up MMA fighter who tries to mend her relationship with her estranged daughter.

Berry was actually set to star in a James Bond spinoff film featuring her character from Die Another Day, but the project was canceled. In the past, Berry has expressed disappointment at the cancellation of her Bond spinoff and even referred to her potential John Wick spinoff film as "putting some ointment on a little sore."

John Wick: Chapter 4 is scheduled to be released on March 23rd, 2023.
