Valve's newest VR title, Half-Life: Alyx, has been met with overwhelmingly positive reviews since it released on March 23, but the game received a few updates Tuesday to fix issues and add more options for players.

Patch Notes for the game's 1.1 Update were posted to its Steam Community page by Valve employee Robin Walker. The major addition to Half-Life: Alyx is a preference option for continuous turning at a number of speed options, as well as the ability to disable controller turning.

This update also renamed the "Quick Turn" option to "Snap Turn," improved the hand-over-mouth pose usability for Windows MR controllers, and fixed issues with crashing and sounds not playing. The latter, as well as an improvement to "the resolution of impact decals on enemies," are likely very important for the moments when players encounter enemies like headcrabs.

On top of his work posting patch notes for version updates, Walker recently told Polygon that Half-Life: Alyx players can expect to see a version playable without VR sometime soon. Though the game will be less immersive using a keyboard and mouse, that should make it more accessible to a wider audience of Half-Life fans who are looking forward to experiencing the story.

Half-Life: Alyx is available now for PC.
