Half-Life 2 to many gamers is one of the most iconic titles to come out of the early 2000s. With unique gameplay, an interesting story, and a famous crowbar-wielding protagonist, fans of Half-Life 2 were left immediately wanting a sequel, especially after seeing the cliffhanger ending of Half-Life 2: Episode 2. With it being well over 15 years since Half-Life 2 first launched, fans have mostly given up on the prospect of a Half-Life 3, though a prequel was eventually granted to them in the form of the VR title, Half-Life: Alyx.

Half-Life: Alyx takes place five years prior to the events of Half-Life 2, with players taking on the role of Alyx Vance as she looks to seize a super-weapon from the alien combine. The VR game received praise from fans and critics, though a lot of fans were initially irritated that they wouldn't be able to play the game without a VR headset. However, this didn't stop Half-Life fans from loving the game and wanting to further Half-Life: Alyx's story through mods.

YouTuber CoreyLaddo has recently revealed a brand-new trailer for his "Levitation" Half-Life: Alyx mod. Unlike other Half-Life: Alyx mods that change the game mechanically, such as one mod that allows players to enjoy the game without VR, "Levitation" is focused primarily on creating a new story within the Half-Life universe. The trailer shows off a lot of action with narration provided by G-Man, one of Half-Life's most famous and mysterious characters.

The trailer also shows off some impressive new environments for Half-Life: Alyx, though it doesn't seem to give players new enemies to fight. Things like new enemy models could be brought in later, as the "Levitation" mod is currently looking towards a Q3 2022 release date. As with most mods, this Half-Life: Alyx adaptation will be free to all owners of the game, giving them an extra 4-5 hours of content to sink their teeth into.

Hopefully, fans will see more huge and expansive mods like "Levitation" in the future for Half-Life: Alyx. Previously, modders may have had to pay a huge license fee in order to mod Valve titles, though now it seems that Valve has gotten rid of these restrictions. This allows fans to mod Valve titles such as Team Fortress 2, Half-Life 2, and of course, Half-Life: Alyx more freely, meaning that players can give Half-Life: Alyx a Jurassic World crossover if they so wish.

Half-Life: Alyx is now available on PC.
