One of the most fearsome Infernal Arms in Hades that Zagreus can access is Exagryph, the Adamant Rail. At once a gun and a rocket launcher, this weapon becomes even more imposing once the player unlocks its hidden aspect, the Aspect of Lucifer.

Like other hidden aspects, Lucifer changes up the moveset. Exagryph's Attack becomes a continuous beam, whose damage increases per ammo tick used. Its explosive special becomes Hellfire, a strange bomb that lands and pulses damage in an area until it takes damage, causing an explosion. This unique moveset requires a bit of strategizing on the player's part, to ensure that Zagreus can make his way past the denizens of Hades with this weapon in hand.

Best Keepsakes

Most keepsakes don't have any particular effect on the Aspect of Lucifer. Thus, players can look to the guide detailing the best keepsakes in Hades to determine which will help them most. Among the consistent best picks are the Lucky Tooth, Old Spiked Collar, and Evergreen Acorn.

That said, certain boons will come in handy when using this aspect of Exagryph, as players will see below. Those intent on snagging one of these handy boons may want to increase their chances of finding them by carrying the respective god's keepsake; e.g. the Conch Shell for Poseidon or the Blood Vial for Ares.

Best Boons

Zag choosing a dash boon from Poseidon's list

Enemies have a nasty habit of moving out of range of Exagryph's Hellfire bombs as soon as they fall; thus, any boons that have a Knockback effect are useful for pushing them back into this projectile's area of damage. These boons are Uncle Poseidon's main schtick, and include:

  • Flood Shot — Cast inflicts Knockback
  • Tidal Dash — Dash inflicts Knockback
  • Tempest Strike — Attack inflicts Knockback

On the subject of the Hellfire effect, any Flourish boons (i.e.; boons that affect Zag's Special) will apply their additional effects to the pulsing damage that Hellfire inflicts on enemies in its radius. The following boons are especially useful for getting the most out of Hellfire:

  • Ares – Curse of Pain, which inflicts Doom damage on foes inside the Hellfire projectile's range.
  • Dionysus – Drunken Flourish, which inflicts Hangover within the range.
  • Zeus – Thunder Flourish, which causes lightning bolts to rain down on random spots within the range.

Best Daedalus Hammer Upgrades

lucifer upgrades

All Hidden Aspects have at least one unique Daedalus Hammer upgrade, but the Aspect of Lucifer has several. The following are the best picks for to increase its effectiveness in battle.

  • Greater Inferno: Increases the Hellfire Special's area of effect, and increases its damage by 250%.
  • Concentrated Beam: Doubles the speed at which the Aspect of Lucifer's Attack damage ramps up with successive hits to one foe.
  • Triple Beam: Exagryph now fires three beams in a spread pattern, instead of a single beam.

Additionally, these non-exclusive upgrades can also come in handy for this aspect of the Adamant Rail:

  • Targeting System: Foes damaged by the Special move 30% slower, and take additional damage as well. The slow movement ensures they stay within the Hellfire's range for a longer time.
  • Triple Bomb: Allows the player to fire the Special three times in quick succession.
