As the preferred drink of the gods, Ambrosia is understandably a rare and valuable resource in Hades, however, players will likely need a bunch of it to complete all their desired tasks. This amber liquid makes a great gift for most characters that one may want to deepen a bond with, though, it is also used in trade to acquire a few kinds of special items.
Those seeking the golden wine of the Greek gods should investigate deeper into the mechanics of Hades, as the best way to get Ambrosia is only available after completing the game at least once. This post-game method, as well as some deft trading with local spirits, should allow Zagreus to attain enough Ambrosia to see their deeds done.
Everything That Ambrosia Is Used For In Hades
Using Ambrosia To Raise Affinity Level With A Character
For almost every character that can be given Nectar as a gift, players can begin giving them Ambrosia instead after completing a Favor for them. This will allow Zagreus to potentially romance them or gain some other benefit. Additionally, upon the first time gifting someone Ambrosia, Zagreus will get a Companion from certain characters.

Using Ambrosia To Level Up Companions
Initially, each Companion can only be used once per escape attempt, however, this can be increased by upgrading them. To upgrade a Companion, players will have to interact with the display case or a Keepsake Collection (if bought from the House Contractor) and spend Ambrosia to increase their ally's usability. The max level for each Companion is 5 (or beyond if using the Night Spindle) and each will require 10 Ambrosia to fully upgrade.
Using Ambrosia To Trade With The House Contractor
While there aren't very many items that can be bought with Ambrosia, the House Contractor within the House of Hades will sell the player a couple of themes for a few bottles of the glistening golden fluid. For 15 Ambrosia, players can buy the Lovely Theme, and, for 10 Ambrosia, players can also buy the Sonorous Theme from the House Contractor.
Using Ambrosia To Purchase Ranks From The Resource Director
Ranks, which are tiers of the Titles that can be gained after beating the game at least once, can be increased by trading Ambrosia with the Resource Director in the House of Hades. Across all Titles, it will only take 10 Ambrosia to fully Rank-up, though, this is because Ambrosia is one of the least-needed upgrade materials.
Every Way To Get Ambrosia In Hades
Getting Ambrosia By Completing Bounties
After completing the game at least once, players will be able to utilize a mechanic known as the Pact of Punishment, which allows the player to increase the difficulty of the game in exchange for better rewards and special opportunities. The difficulty is increased by activating various Harsh Conditions, which will all apply some effect to make the game harder, such as increasing the damage that enemies do and much more. Every Harsh Condition activated will increase the Heat of a run, which, in turn, will unlock Bounties for bosses. If Zagreus defeats a boss while the Heat level is high enough, players will have a chance to be rewarded with Ambrosia (among some other resources).
Getting Ambrosia By Defeating Bosses
Players can seek out a specific pair of bosses in order to farm Ambrosia during each run where they are encountered. The bosses that drop Ambrosia as a reward are Theseus and Asterius, though only if both are defeated.
Getting Ambrosia By Completing Prophecies For The Fated List Of Minor Prophecies
Across all of the tasks on the Fated List of Minor Prophecies, there is a total of 68 acquirable units of Ambrosia. The kinds of tasks vary between prophecies, but all require the player to spend quite a lot of time exploring the Underworld.
Getting Ambrosia By Trading With The Wretched Broker
The Wretched Broker found in the House of Hades will offer lucrative trades for those seeking Ambrosia. The most reliable method is to buy some with Diamonds, however, there are some limited-time offers that will occasionally grant other trades for Ambrosia.

Getting Ambrosia By Trading Fish With The Head Chef
If players indulge in some fishing, it is possible to get fish that can be traded to the Head Chef in the House of Hades for some Ambrosia. The fish that players can trade for 1 Ambrosia each is Bass, which is a species only found in Greece.
