Gundam Evolution, the objective-based shooter developed by Bandai Namco, is now available for previous and current generation consoles as well as PC through Steam. To celebrate the launch of Gundam Evolution on consoles, Bandai Namco has released a launch trailer with a remix of the main theme by none other than DJ Steve Aoki.

The six versus six first-person team shooter Gundam Evolution is based on the mecha franchise that has spawned numerous TV shows, games, and movie titles. The game was launched for PC via Steam in late September, but now the game is also available on Sony's and Microsoft's console platforms. The game offers team-based and objective-oriented gameplay where two squads of six face off against each other.

Gundam Evolution is the latest iteration of the Mobile Suit Gundam game franchise. The launch of the console version of the game brings it to Xbox One and Xbox Series X and S as well as PlayStation 4 and 5. The launch trailer shows off some of the game's various human-controlled mecha units. Each unit has specialized skills and weaponry, support abilities, and hit points, which makes the composition of the squad important. With Gundam mecha's thrusters, players can pilot the robots into fast evasive actions or offensive maneuvers.

In the battles, squads try to eliminate each other while completing objectives on the map, which vary depending on the game mode. Gundam Evolution features various modes such as familiar Point Capture, where teams capture or defend points on the map depending on which team they are on, and Domination, in which both squads fight for the same three capture points. There's also a mode called Destruction, where one of the teams is trying to destroy the other by enabling a weapon of mass destruction while the opposing team is trying to stop the activation of the weapon.

Gundam Evolution is free to play but features an in-game shop that allows players to buy new units as well as cosmetics. Paying for the content is completely optional as units are unlockable without real money. The game comes with 12 playable units, including the likes of Pale Rider, Sazabi, and GM Sniper II. From the game's store, players can unlock another six units, which are Marasai (UC), Gundam Exia, Mahiroo, Zaku II with Melee loadout, Unicorn Gundam, and Nu Gundam. More units are likely to be released since the Gundam lore has massive amounts of powerful units to draw from.

Gundam Evolution is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
