Guilty Gear Strive has been a huge hit for Arc System Works following its launch last year, being praised by the fanbase for its story, characters, and music. They are all stylishly designed and offer something unique, with each character and song having a lot of care and attention behind them that are jam-packed with classic rock references. It's one of the highest-selling games in the franchise, with the game continuing its momentum through its first Season Pass that contains five DLC characters for Guilty Gear Strive.

The first four DLC characters have currently been released, featuring a set of both newcomers and returning players. These include Goldlewis Dickinson, a character introduced in Strive that contains alien weaponry, along with a returning Jack O' Valentine. Not to be stopped, Happy Chaos was added as Guilty Strive's third DLC character, followed by the fan-favorite busty samurai Baiken. The fifth and final character of this season pass will be another recurring character of the series, Testament.

Testament has been a part of the franchise ever since the very first game, though they did make a cameo appearance in the epilogue of Guilty Gear Strive's story mode campaign. Announced during the Arc Revo 2021 FGC Tournament, Testament will be joining the roster on March 28 for those who have already purchased the Season Pass. Players can purchase them separately a few days later on March 31.

Testament has a brand-new elegant and stylish design, wielding a large crimson scythe. They also possess the power to use two succubi, which can be summoned to attack their opponents by transforming into a crow or other forms of attacking. Testament can also use demonic powers to attack with projectiles, summoning skulls, or other manners of attacks to control the area. Guilty Gear Strive describes them as an "easy-to-use" character, which is likely due to the number of offensive options they possess.

The fan reception to Testament's reveal has been enthusiastic, with many praising Testament's new glamorous design. Some are happy to see them make a return after their last appearance, which was Guilty Gear XX in 2002. Other fans are hoping with Testament's return, other veteran characters like Dizzy, Sin, or A.B.A can also be added to Guilty Gear Strive as another DLC Character in a future season pass. Arc System Works also announced that a new stage will be coming with Testament's release, known as White House Reborn.

Guilty Gear Strive is available now on PC, PS4, and PS5.
