Guild Wars 2 just unveiled its release schedule for the rest of 2022. Players can expect multiple updates to Guild Wars 2’s professions, several in-game and streaming events, and the final installment of the relaunch of Living World Season 1.

The first segment of the schedule has already gone live, with profession balance changes focused on competitive Guild Wars 2 modes and the Jormag Legendary Weapon skin now available. Later in October, players can participate in the World vs. World Restructuring Beta event and the Shadow of the Mad King Halloween event to earn special rewards.

In early November, Guild Wars 2 is holding a 24-hour charity stream with Extra Life for the sixth consecutive year. A few days later, it will release “Battle for Lion’s Arch,” the fifth and final chapter of the Living World Season 1 revamp. Late November will see another profession balance update, this time with a focus on all game modes, as well as the launch of the Primordus-themed Legendary Weapon skins and the Challenge Mode of the “Battle for Lion’s Arch” strike mission: Old Lion’s Court. And of course, December will bring the Wintersday Christmas event back to Guild Wars 2.

Living World Season 1 was Guild Wars 2’s first foray into major live service content updates after its launch 10 years ago. However, the structuring of the updates meant the content was made unavailable after new patches replaced them. While an interesting formula at the time, its exclusionary nature has led Guild Wars 2 to re-release the lost chapter of its history for all to play in an episodic manner. “Battle for Lion’s Arch” is the fifth and final installment of this re-release.

This also means Guild Wars 2 will be able to start working on new content for the first time since End of Dragons was released earlier this year. While many players are glad to be able to play Living World Season 1 for the first or second time, fans are eager to learn what comes next in Guild Wars 2’s story after the dramatic conclusion of End of Dragons. Guild Wars 2 already confirmed it was working on its fourth expansion pack, and otherwise said a new Living World season set in unexplored reaches of Cantha was in the works. Players can probably expect to hear more about new releases in Guild Wars 2 in its next roadmap update, likely sometime after the new year.

Guild Wars 2 is available for PC.
