Guild Wars 2 is giving away a free Total Makeover Kit to every player to celebrate Valentine’s Day. This premium item can be easily collected by Guild Wars 2 players simply by logging in to the game.

On Valentine’s Day, Guild Wars 2 announced it was giving away a free Total Makeover Kit to every player as a gift for the holiday. Players can pick up one of these premium consumables from the Black Lion Trading Company in-game interface through February 28 at no cost. The free giveaway is limited to one per account, but the item itself can be traded between characters, or even gifted to other players.

Total Makeover Kits are a special item that allows players to change the hair, face, eyes, build, height, and even gender of their Guild Wars 2 character. Virtually every aspect of a character outside of race, class, background, and name can be changed with this item. Additionally, using these items also gives access to premium faces, hairstyles, and colors unavailable during character creation. These items normally have a value of 350 gems – roughly $5 in value – so players should be sure to log on and pick up their free gift before it expires at the end of the month.

Players interested in picking up more free Guild Wars 2 items can also score a free 24-slot bag as well. To earn this free bag, players just have to subscribe to the ArenaNet and Guild Wars 2 newsletter emails. Once they do, Guild Wars 2 will send a free Mail Carrier Satchel to a character on the attached account. This account-bound bag can be traded between characters to help with storage space.

No Guild Wars 2 player will ever be upset with a free Total Makeover Kit. The free-to-play MMORPG does not have any ways to change one’s appearance without premium currency, so having access to one of these items is great for players who can’t afford them. Players who otherwise didn’t have access to the amazing premium customization options now also have the chance to look their best as they prepare for the fourth Guild Wars 2 expansion.

Guild Wars 2 recently revealed its plans for the future of the MMO in a studio update. Rather than its longer cadence of sprawling expansions and Living World content, Guild Wars 2 will be seeking to release smaller expansions at a higher frequency. As it moves into a new era after End of Dragons, ArenaNet hopes to continue to give players more content at a faster pace than ever before.
