Horizon Zero Dawn developer Guerrilla Games hires a former Rockstar Games developer as a designer. Guerrilla will soon be releasing Horizon Zero Dawn on PC, after several years of the game being a PS4 exclusive, but the developer hasn't confirmed what it is working on next.

On LinkedIn, the profile of former Rockstar Games designer Elijah Houck has been updated to say that the developer is now working at Guerrilla Games as a senior world designer. Houck joined Rockstar out of university as a junior scripter, progressing up to senior game designer in less than five years. The developer spent five years and nine months at Rockstar, developing Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online updates before leaving the company in February 2020 to join Guerrilla.

Guerrilla hasn't officially announced its next game. However, one game that Houck could be developing is the rumored SOCOM PS5 game. SOCOM is a third-person shooter series and as Red Dead Redemption 2 has third-person shooting gameplay, Houck would know just how to design a game world for it. Guerrilla has also hired several other shooting game developers, which supports the SOCOM rumor.

Another potential game that Guerrilla is developing is some sort of multiplayer game, or Horizon Zero Dawn 2 with multiplayer. Guerrilla job listings teased a new multiplayer game but nothing has been officially revealed. Houck has helped to develop four Red Dead Online updates and so would be a brilliant hire if the team needs someone who knows how to create something new for fans every month.

Fans may not know what Guerrilla is developing but it is likely that its new game will be a PS5 exclusive. Job listings from the developer confirm that the game will be on PS5 and as the console releases in holiday 2020, it seems unlikely that the PS4 will get any more exclusive games.

This means that the new Guerrilla game will be able to use PS5 specs such as faster loading for bigger and better looking games. It also means that there will be no loading screens, if Houck and the other Guerrilla developers are designing a huge world for players to have fun in. Fans may really want to play a new Guerrilla game now but if releasing the game on PS5 means more development time and more new developers are needed, many will support the wait.
