Today, the video game developer Telltale Games decided to unveil the official release date for the first episode in its serialized game for Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, by announcing its debut of April 18, 2017. Not to mention, the studio has given the periodical release's first of five episodes the title of "Tangled Up in Blue," which is undoubtedly a direct reference to Bob Dylan's classic song from the singer-songwriter's 1975 album Blood on the Tracks.

In addition to revealing the release date for the first episode of Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, the game's developer also put out a brand new image from the title, revealing at least one of the series' antagonists as Thanos. As seen in the still below, fans can get a good gander of the Mad Titan scrapping with the Guardians' resident knife expert, Drax, while Groot and Star-Lord hurry to help him.

Furthermore, Telltale Games provided a price point for Guardians of the Galaxy's "Tangled Up in Blue" episode, which is set to cost $5 for fans who want to check out the series' debut. Of course, should fans wish to eschew buying episodes of the title à la carte, they will be able to go all-in on a season pass, which will officially become available in North America on May 2, and internationally on May 5.

In order to advertise Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series further, Telltale Games has scheduled to release even more promotional materials for later this week. To be specific, the studio plans on presenting a brand new trailer this Thursday at 9:00 AM PT, which will hopefully further explicate the role Thanos plays within the game's plot and be much longer than the title's debut teaser trailer.

Although Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series has only been confirmed thus far for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, as well as Android and iOS devices, it's quite possible that the game could eventually become available for other platforms in addition to those listed. As it happens, a recent spate of product listings from several different retailers have indicated the chance of Telltale's adaptations of Guardians of the Galaxy potentially coming to Nintendo Switch. Should that be the case, then the developer would definitely be able to boost the chances of further profitability for the title.
