Social media is full of cosplayers making amazing looks, attempting to replicate the most difficult characters. MCU cosplay specifically is extremely popular, and especially those involving characters in Guardians of the Galaxy like Nebula.

Because those films are set in space with tons of alien creatures, it takes real ambition and talent to tackle some of those iconic looks. One Instagram user took one of those iconic looks and really nailed it. She chose possibly one of the most recognizable characters from the Guardians of the Galaxy films: Nebula.

@misskrisskosplay is a very well-known cosplayer on Instagram, with many MCU looks on her page. Clearly, she's very talented and her follower count reflects that a lot of people recognize this. Of all of her looks, her Nebula might be one of her best. The detail that goes into this character is immense, as she's completely bald with blue body paint. In her caption, Krystal says that the look took between six and seven hours to get into because she wanted it to be perfect. Just looking at the look she created, this is no surprise at all. She also says that the scleras, the contacts giving her the black eyes, were difficult to get in and very uncomfortable. With the success of the look and well over 1200 likes on the pictures, hopefully, the hard work and discomfort were all worth it.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Nebula is portrayed by former Doctor Who star Karen Gillan. She's the adopted daughter of huge MCU supervillain Thanos and sister of Gamora, one of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Her storyline throughout the series is an interesting one. Though she's not in the films an excessive amount, her story is still very deep and she's a fan-favorite character because of what she's been through.

In terms of her looks, Nebula isn't exactly human. In the MCU she is a bald cyborg character, with black eyes and many mechanical pieces. For the first Guardians of the Galaxy film, Gillan had to shave her head completely bald. The makeup and body paint also took five hours to apply every day. Luckily for her, the next film had her only shaving part of her head and the makeup only took two and a half hours to apply.

Krystal from @misskrisskosplay is clearly a big fan of this franchise and her way of expressing it has resonated with a lot of people. She even recently caught the eyes of Disney, as they invited her to walk the red carpet of their latest MCU film Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings.

Guardians of the Galaxy is now available on Disney Plus.
