One of the big surprises at E3 2021 was the reveal that Eidos Montreal was making a Guardians of the Galaxy video game in the form of a single-player, narrative-driven action game with players taking on the role of Star-Lord. At E3, fans got a good look at Guardians of the Galaxy's gameplay, including some combat sequences and how dialogue choices will allow players to change the course of the story. Now fans have been given yet another look at the Guardians of the Galaxy video game, with the latest footage introducing a new character.

In the new Guardians of the Galaxy footage, the titular Guardians come face to face with Lady Hellbender, the blue-skinned queen of Seknarf Nine and the leader of the Hellraisers. A relatively new addition to the comics, Lady Hellbender in the Guardians of the Galaxy video game is a monster collector, with the Guardians attempting to pull a fast one on her by pretending to sell her the talking raccoon Rocket or the sentient tree Groot.

Whether Star-Lord and the gang sell Lady Hellbender Rocket or Groot will depend on player choice, and while that specific transaction isn't shown in the footage, the video does show a hilarious interaction between Lady Hellbender and Drax the Destroyer. Lady Hellbender doesn't seem to take much interest in the Guardians besides Drax, with Drax thinking that she is flirting with him.

It's at this point where more Guardians of the Galaxy dialogue choices are put on full display, as Star-Lord can dictate exactly how Drax handles this interaction. Players can choose to encourage Drax and have him flirt with Lady Hellbender right back, or they can tell him not to engage. Whatever choice they make will change the specifics of how the cutscene plays out, but it seems fans will have to wait to get their hands on the game to see just how differently the conversation could've gone.

Luckily, fans won't have to wait all that much longer to find out. The Guardians of the Galaxy game's release date is right around the corner, with it currently set to launch on October 26 for numerous platforms. There's even a Guardians of the Galaxy Switch port in the works, so pretty much everyone will get the chance to play the game if they so desire.

The initial reaction to the Guardians of the Galaxy game was mixed, but to be fair, not much of the game has actually been shown to the public so far. It will be interesting to see how the final product winds up when it releases in a couple months.

Guardians of Galaxy launches October 26 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
