It’s been a busy couple of days for Guardians of the Galaxy and, more specifically, Adam Warlock. Many fans knew, or at least thought, he would appear in GotG 3 after his teaser in the second movie, but this week Adam Warlock’s casting, Will Poulter, was confirmed. As the movie introduces him, new characters, returning characters, and a story focused on Gamora and Nova, it seems set up to be another hit in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

However, it’s not the only form of media to utilize the character. A recent trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy teased Adam Warlock’s depiction in the game and was, shortly after, outright confirmed by the official Guardians of the Galaxy game Twitter account. It does remain to be seen what role he plays overall, but his addition is no doubt an exciting one for fans.

The confirmation and teaser are brief, showing just his silhouette and Warlock saying, “So the Shepherd’s found fresh flock.” With it just being about two weeks from release, fans are likely not going to learn much more about him before the game releases. After all, Guardians of the Galaxy needs a couple of surprises, and alongside Adam Warlock, the official Twitter account also promised there are aspects of the game that haven’t been shown or even mentioned yet.

That bodes well for Guardians of the Galaxy’s release date, but that doesn’t mean the game is shrouded in mystery. For example, fans already know that the titular ragtag group of heroes will be facing off with the Universal Church of Truth, the Church’s Grand Unifier Raker, and Lady Hellbender. It seems the game is diving into more of the obscure characters in the Marvel universe, and that’s a good thing. But having a recognizable and popular name like Adam Warlock certainly isn’t going to hurt either.

Plus, a name like Adam Warlock may draw more fans of the franchise to the Guardians of the Galaxy game. Many have had concerns about it, ranging from its gameplay style, characterization, and relation to Marvel’s Avengers, but as Marvel’s Avengers is seemingly and slowly turning things around, the same may be said of Guardians of the Galaxy too. After all, in our recent preview of Guardians of the Galaxy, we were certainly impressed with the game and its offerings. Hopefully, more fans of the Guardians and Adam Warlock will be too.

Guardians of the Galaxy will release on October 26, 2021, on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
