There was a lot of buzz over the prospect of playing remastered versions of the first three 3D Grand Theft Auto games, however, many were left upset with the way the games were released. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition's launch was unfortunately hampered by all manner of bugs, glitches, and crashes.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition is definitely not the first game to have a troubled release in recent memory, however, Rockstar is generally held in high esteem by gamers as a company known for releasing polished products. This is most likely why players who entrusted Rockstar with their money would now like to be refunded for not getting the experience they were expecting.

One of the many gripes players are having with Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition are the character models, which look less than appealing. This disappointed players as many were hoping that the remaster would in fact improve upon the outdated graphics of the game, however, in some cases the overhaul seems to look worse.

The poor reception reached a climax when Rockstar decided to pause PC sales of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition. This was most likely due to Rockstar wanting to give Grove Street Games some more time to fix the title before it went on sale again.

The developer of GTA Trilogy - Definitive Edition, Grove Street Games, has stated that updates and fixes for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition will be coming soon. This has unfortunately not done all that much to quell the large number of unsatisfied players that dealt with crashes, bugs, and glitches as many fans took to Twitter to air their concerns about the title. Many gamers have even taken to comparing the GTA Trilogy with Cyberpunk 2077, as they felt that the game's pre-release marketing overpromised and underdelivered when it came to the final product much like Cyberpunk 2077.

Many fans are now hoping to be offered refunds, as this was the approach that CD Projekt Red took when dealing with players upset about Cyberpunk 2077. Activision Blizzard dealt with the same issues when releasing Diablo 2: Resurrected, however, Activision Blizzard chose not to refund players.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition is available now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
