Grand Theft Auto: Trilogy - Definitive Edition is due for release tomorrow, and as a result, Rockstar Games has been marketing the remastered classics ahead of launch. While there have been some criticism towards the released GTA Trilogy screenshots, though many assured naysayers that this is a remaster rather than a remake, fans of the franchise are no doubt looking forward to launch day. One thing that has puzzled some is the lack of any official gameplay trailers uploaded by the studio. Fortunately, fans have come forward and released footage of their own.

According to a report, citing a number of sources, while Rockstar has been dropping screenshots, cut-scene footage, and GIFs from Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy, there hasn't been much in the way of actual gameplay trailers, which is where the fan base comes in. Some who have got the game early have been sharing their own footage of what the game actually looks like during play. These have been uploaded to places like Reddit and YouTube.

One user in particular uploaded around an hour's worth of gameplay footage from each of the three classic Grand Theft Auto titles. The videos aim to show what fans have accused Rockstar of refusing to do, which is to show exactly what each of the games looks like. As many will imagine, the videos show the quality of life and visual upgrade that GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas have been given. While there are some who seem disappointed in the visuals, others are quite impressed with the "lick of paint" job that's been given to the titles, the earliest of which is now twenty years old at this point.

The looming release of the GTA: Trilogy opens up the possibility of the developer remastering other games in its back catalog. A recent rumor suggests that a Grand Theft Auto 4 remaster could be on the cards. This information was leaked by a Twitter user, suggesting it could be released in 2023. However, Rockstar Games has yet to confirm whether GTA 4 is in development or not.

The GTA: Trilogy is being developed by Grove Street Games who have worked on numerous Grand Theft Auto titles, such as bringing the third installment to mobile devices. While there are those who are critical about how this upcoming remaster looks, it's no doubt going to be a lucrative launch for Rockstar, especially among those who fondly remember the originals.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition is set to release tomorrow for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
