YouTube channel TeaserPlay has created another video imagining a hypothetical Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Unreal Engine 5 remake. TeaserPlay has created a number of videos recreating Grand Theft Auto games in Unreal Engine 5, and this latest one is all about San Andreas. Specifically, it's about a particular scene in San Andreas that happens near the end of the story. Note that this article will have SPOILERS for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Near the end of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas' story, protagonist CJ confronts former friend Big Smoke. The confrontation ends in Big Smoke's death, with CJ and Smoke having a final conversation before Smoke succumbs to his injuries. It's one of the most notable scenes in San Andreas, and so it makes sense for it to be selected as an example of what a hypothetical San Andreas remake could look like if recreated in Unreal Engine 5.

This is not the first time that TeaserPlay has made a video showcasing what a potential San Andreas Unreal Engine 5 remake could look like. Previously, it released a GTA San Andreas remake video that was all about Big Smoke's fast-food order. Both scenes mark two of Big Smoke's most memorable moments in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and it will be interesting to see if future videos from the channel focus on some of the other characters in the game.

TeaserPlay has released other Grand Theft Auto videos that are completely unrelated to San Andreas. Some of the videos focus on recreating other games in the franchise, like the one that showed what a Grand Theft Auto 4 Unreal Engine 5 remake could look like, for instance.

Other TeaserPlay GTA videos instead aim to show what the eventual Grand Theft Auto 6 could be like, drawing on leaks about the game for inspiration. The videos often show Grand Theft Auto 6 taking place in Vice City, which is rumored to be the primary city for the new game, though is a detail that has yet to actually be confirmed by Rockstar at the time of this writing.

While a GTA San Andreas Unreal Engine 5 remake is unlikely to ever materialize, Grand Theft Auto fans do have the opportunity to play a remade version of the game if they so desire. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is one of the games included in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, which released last year to overwhelmingly negative reviews. Updates have worked to bring San Andreas and the other games in the collection more in line with Rockstar's standards, but many are still disappointed by it.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is available now for PC, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, and mobile devices, with a Meta Quest 2 version also in development.
