Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition was highly anticipated and one of the worst-kept secrets in gaming this year. With the anticipation so high, fans couldn't wait to get their hands on the game to re-live some of the glory years of the franchise on the current generation of consoles. However, the anticipation has quickly become derision as the GTA Trilogy has been found to have a multitude of issues ranging from game-breaking glitches to head-scratching typos.

Since the release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition, fans have picked apart the highs and lows of this game to its original iterations. Some fans praise the gameplay changes and are just happy to relive the nostalgia of the classic GTA games, others have criticized the questionable design choices of the remasters. One such criticism has reached the Grand Theft Auto subreddit and fans are dreading the lack of detail given to the game's restaurants.

Reddit user u/Eddielowfifthslayer points out that in the original make of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the burger in the Burgershot logo rotates in the crosshairs. In the remastered version, the burger is static. This decision is particularly frustrating because given the advancements in technology compared to the PS2 era, making the burger rotate seems like an innocuous task. Fans are lamenting the decision in the comments, calling this part of the proof that Rockstar Games did not show enough love to make these remasters.

This isn't the only instance where a restaurant had a design change seemingly for the worse. There has been a photo circulating on social media that compares the Tuff Nutt Donut Shop in the original and the remaster. The remastered version has smoothed out the pixels on the donut, which is fine, but it has also smoothed out the nut, making it look more like a washer. The shop loses some of its design charms in the change as the limitation of the pixels turned out to add to the design. Fans have also found typos in the restaurant names in GTA 3 which gives fans more evidence to believe that the game was not given enough care to background environments before launch.

In the grand saga that has been the post-release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition, this problem is minor. Ill-conceived and detailed texture "improvements" to the game environment pales in comparison to being unavailable on PC on launch weekend. However, when compounding all the other issues the game has had in the week it has been out, fans are not impressed with what Rockstar has done to these games.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
